The stuff restaurants use to wash dishes is really bad for your tummy and very often that stuff is still on the dishes, while you're eating off of them.

In a Seinfeld episode, is the laughter noise in the script or is it just up to the editor to figure out when to add it in post?

Thanks! It turns out "gamut mapping" was the special keyword I needed to be searching for. Immediately I was able to find the coloraide library which does everything I need it to: convert colors from CMYK to CAM16-UCS, adjust the

The database is 8 gigabytes so it will take a minute to upload, but I put one of the output images on imgur: https://imgur.com/a/oMtVDYO The source color is in the top left corner and below it are colors darker than it

Oh hey that's a good idea! Probably calculating the lightness, hue and chroma for the source CMYK color is going to be faster than searching for it in the DB. Also I'm using the DB because it provides mappings for all the CMYK col

At the moment, I think the program just crashes if there's no match in the DB. It should be impossible for the initial lookup to fail because the DB has a row for every possible CMYK color but in the second lookup has crashed the progr

A row in the DB has 7 columns: c,m,y,k,lightness, chroma, hue. I used the colorspacious python library to create the DB which took about 24 hours. I wanted to map all the colors in the CMYK gamut (about 10^8) over to the CIECAM02 model but I

The one thing I don't see mentioned in this article is using encrypted DNS. Right now I use firefox on my PC and Opera on my phone because both browsers have a setting to use encrypted DNS. I just turn it on and forget about it. I tend

I had a discussion with my church group about this and it was absolutely fascinating. On the one hand they welcomed the ubiquitous observation and judgement of all people, because they thought that would make it easier to control people

I want to see more countries join NATO. NATO is just a cool idea. Having the militaries from 31 countries all under one command structure. I genuinely would like to see them try.

In the real world there are tolerances, so at my job I rarely have to get the correct answer which can be really hard, I just have to get close to the correct answer which can still be hard, but compared to actually solving the problem, it&

I would hope so. Imagine only focusing on making really good plastic bricks for 53 years. There have probably been a lot of technological advancements over time that have let them make more bricks more precisely.

Does Duplo have the same level of quality control as Lego? Like I can go and buy 10,000 1 x 1 Lego pieces and be sure they'll all be exactly the same within about 10 micrometers. Are Duplo bricks also as insanely QC'd as Lego?

Or, the government should step in and say "No. Have different companies take over different parts of Windows. Do this in two years or pay a 1 trillion dollar fine." I think that would be a lot better.
