Using SHA256 I was able to prove mathematically, that files you upload to google drive are the same after you download them again. You could also plug an external drive into a raspberry pi (or any computer really) and run samba on it. You w

I always thought the word "contract" in crypto was more of a metaphor than an actual contract. Kind of like how filesystems have "folders" even though the "folders" in a filesystem aren't anything like rea

Wow I can't believe I didn't hear about this. It was all over the news when they broke it, so I figured it would be just as widely reported when they fixed it. It's been almost 3 weeks.

Have you tried using wireshark to analyze the traffic? That's the first idea I had since you said these pages are trying to detect your browser's developer tools.

Thanks for pointing out zettelkasten. I have to memorise a bunch of facts for an exam and this seems like a good system.

I think it's called "Mathematical Methods for Artificial Intelligence and Autonomous Systems". It's this one: https://www.amazon.com/Mathematical-Methods-Artificial-Intel... I found my copy at Goodwill.

I don't hate all murder mysteries. It's more specifically books with really bad pacing, boring characters driving boring plots. That can happen in any book really. And those kinds of things don't really come out until I get p

I understand there is a market for these books. There has to be for someone to bother writing hundreds of pages and then for someone else to invest in editing and publishing and making cover art. That's why I'm not naming specific

Yes your physiology is limited and you need to augment your functionality with some kind of remembering machine. Like a notebook, or like some kind of app on your phone. Or a spreadsheet. Or a SQLite DB. Basically I think if you take notes

As a person who reads a lot of books (1 book every 1-3 weeks depending on its length) I can say most of them are crap garbage and I throw them in the garbage when I'm finished with them. A lot of murder mysteries. I don't know why

I think there's just a large profit incentive for corporations to treat Taiwan like it's part of China. I found a Leap Frog globe in walmart the other day and it told me Taiwan wasn't a country and was, in fact, just China.

I just think it's important to remember that not everyone is rich enough to have a home environment that's as good or better than the one at work. And also consider that the company bears a lot of expenses by having people work on

I actually prefer going to work. Being out of the house for 5 days a week really helps to reduce the utility bill. Also I hate being at home. Nothing good ever happens there.

Most of the time a client just cares about the information, not the typesetting or the layout, and in that case most of the data can just be pulled from the web inspector (downloading files). I've yet to have a client ask me to also co

I'm not sure if its worse to have too much or too little in your writing. I've read books where I skip whole chapters because nothing important happens. I assume on the other end there would be books with missing pieces where impo

I dont think making a substance illegal reduces its use. In the town where I live it was illegal to sell liquor until recently and this just created demand for unsafe unregulated products that normally can't compete with legal alcohol.

Or sometimes a person shows up at a new IT job and the old admin didn't leave behind any notes and the only way to do the job at all short of rebuilding everything from the ground up is to pwn the network.

There are materials which are "transparent" to microwaves and don't get hot in the microwave oven but I can't remember which ones. And glass definitely isn't one of them.
