Sorry I should’ve been more clear. I meant that people who go the route of setting up their own vpn server are more concerned with security. I think we’re on the same page, and I agree with you about the importance of privacy to PIA users.

Yeah, the last commit was eight months ago —- yikes. There is an open issue about porting to a different language (it’s currently written in Python) but that hasn’t seemed to take-off.

The number of people responding is very encouraging to see. To answer the question, I echo and endorse what one user has already posted -- practice gratitude and be nice to yourself. It's very easy to get caught-up thinking we're

If anything, a better title would be “Use VPN services for security, not privacy”. I don’t know about others, but whenever I’m using a VPN, I pretty much only have security in mind for when I’m using public WiFi’s.

This seems to be a common and popular trend these days, especially on HN. Is anyone doing the opposite and becoming more ingrained into the Google ecosystem? I'd love to dive more into the Android/Google side of things, but thes

> Most of these "cybersecurity" jobs are download Metasploit and run autopwn This is, unfortunately, selling the security industry short. In reality, and especially in cities like DC, the security industry is pretty competitive

I think the same can be applied to just about any source/site/app where these feelings of inferiority can arise. Even here if I spend enough time browsing posts with topics I’m not strong in, I feel like I still have so much catch

I’m not sure if price is the only thing here. This is really anecdotal, but most people I know who are always first in line to get the newest iPhone sat this one out, citing sort of a “new device” fatigue as their reasoning. Maybe this is w

Apple actually creates some signatures in house with “XProtect”, but I’m not sure they do the same for raw privesc exploits. I’m also not sure how thorough they are with their signature creation...

Minor, but ASLR doesn’t deal with code obfuscation. It is a system technique to help deter exploitation of an arbitrary app.

I see what you mean and understand the confusion. Though I think it is called what it is because it is a distinct Windows subsystem , with various kernel drivers and modules, that are for Linux processes. The substytem is still Windows (

How long had you been working there before you asked? And was there any push back? I'm sure this will vary from company to company, but I am curious to hear your case.
