I’m not sure if price is the only thing here. This is really anecdotal, but most people I know who are always first in line to get the newest iPhone sat this one out, citing sort of a “new device” fatigue as their reasoning. Maybe this is wishful thinking on my part, but it seems people are finally realizing that a new iPhone really doesn’t make peoples’ lives that much better.
- mixmastamyk 9y agoI’m very happy with the 6s hardware, no desire for face scanning, and prefer my simple third-party headphones for now. Not only that, ios11 is bad enough I’ve contemplated getting an android next time. Something I thought I’d never do.
- infinite_beam 9y agoi'm still on the iphone 6 and very happy. had a battery change in 2017 august and the phone felt as good as new.
- manyxcxi 9y agoI’m usually an every other iPhone person, but I switched from last year’s plus model to the X because of the size and wireless charging. I want the big-ish screen, but a little smaller form factor. I’ve got bear paws for hands, but a plus is just a tad wide to reach across with one hand. The X is a fairly nice form for my hands. I’ve not fumbled it once yet, the plus took flight frequently enough it was a month away from a pilot’s license. I don’t really care about the Animoji. Honestly, I liked the finger print scanning more than the face scanning. Unlocking my password manager or other apps while laying down is a no go 95% of the time. Battery life is at least as good as my plus was for me. The screen is really quite nice when watching video. The cameras are awesome. I’m cord free with wireless charging and loving it. I know Android has had wireless charging for a while, etc. etc., but I tried it a few times on a five different devices and I’ll never go back to it as my main phone. Would I buy this phone again? Yep. Would I recommend it to someone else? Maybe. What’s their use case? There’s a number of options now for iOS, they all have their place for people.
