Err this article didn't seem to give me any faith whatsoever. It's basically luck so far. The article seems to suggest that somehow the equilibrium is stronger than we think. But I see no reason for that to hold indefinitely. If t

They switched over for 7 years, they got the initial political support required to switch over, they created their own distribution. So I regard that as having shown that it is possible to switch. This is purely showing that getting over th

It actually gives strength to what Munich did. They proved that it was possible to swap. So Barcelona doesn't have such a political tricky situation as there is a pre-existing example. Let's hope that more follow Barcelona. Barcel

Here's the business insider interview [0] where she talks about dropping out. Being self taught is part of the importance I think as it makes the robots more understandable. They typically look like Mechano creations and don't hid

I agree. The machines she makes are genuinely funny. Making something funny is hard and takes skill. Beyond that she manages to give personality to her robots. I guess what I'm trying to say is she's providing actual comedy rather

Fair point, I enjoy them too. But the amount of thought it takes to say Happy Birthday via Facebook is so trivial. FB reminds you, puts it at the top of your feed and reminds you the day after. For me to send a birthday card to my friends I

> You pour work in and potentially don't see anything for it I guess it depends on what you expect in return. I was so crazy amazed at the process of watching my daughter solving the 3D puzzle of putting the dummy back in her mouth.

Perhaps the car sensors would have seen the child moving, he was hidden just before he ran out into the road but he probably wasn't hiding waiting to jump out. So there's a chance that the cars sensors would spot him. Plus the sen

As a cyclist I am always aware that pedestrians might step out into the road. I expect pedestrians to do stupid things, so I don't travel at 60 kph. In town I'd never travel more than 20.

A crash isn't intentional either. Meriam Webster has the following definition for crash: "to fall, land, or hit with destructive force" To me that is more accurate.

Having less children is a factor. I only have one child with no chance of a second. If I lose the one there is no concept of a future. If you have more than one child there is a future because you have to carry on for your other children.

I fully agree. We amateur drivers choose to drive 1000kg metal boxes at speeds that kill for convenience. We do not accept how dangerous this is. This is severe carelessness. We should all recognise that driving more than 30 mph when there&

As far as I can tell, it's a bit like the 20% Google time. Except for instead of it being one day a week, it's 25 people in a building for 5 years. The people being given money for AI are expected to work on AI, not on whatever th
