It seems ugly logic but it makes sense. They don't want to stop any fishing. The more fish they get the more money they have to keep fishing. Plus the less money conservation groups have to focus on one section.

I've been working remotely with UK companies from Belgium since 2010. I'd worked with both companies in the UK before I left. Both companies are great and treat remote workers well. But I knew the people well before I went remote.

This does rely on there being enough people to make co-working possible. I live in a town of 20000 in Belgium there's literally no-one doing remote work. There's a local company that's tried to open a co-working place. I'

How come so many Germans rent? The US doesn't seem the odd one out here. For example, UK, Belgium, France it's normal to buy a house. Or at least want to buy a house.

It was all super impressive until the last photo of the sunset shot over the bridge, there seems something artificial about that. Possibly the blur of the car on the far side, but it's more than that. Just not sure what.

It is ridiculously brilliantly detailed. I love the obsessiveness the has gone on to figure out the Google Maps changes. It's wonderfully written too, easy to follow through his logic without having to re-read sections.

Brett Victor has done numerous experiments to try to improve the way we can visualise data or be more creative with it, combining the freedom of drawing on paper with the reproducibility of software. I think what they are doing at DynamicLa

I think 'core values' is a question for whoever is using the personal computer. Given that this comes from research directly connected to Alan Kay, he at least is well aware of the values of the people who pushed computers from si

To the down voters, it was a genuine question. If the programs are pieces of paper, either they are just toy problems or otherwise you care about losing the paper.

I think you can make some more sense of this if you read the piece, and watch the video on laser socks [0]. That was a game designed at the CDG lab that is the pre-cursor to Dynamicland. [0]: http://glench.com/LaserSocks

The whole point is because its from the military (which I hope the BBC verified), then it's supposed to rule out 1 or 2. It's basically a filler story that the BBC news would put on at the end of the news along the lines of "

Literally yes, but when the UFO hunters go out, there's a fairly implicit 'Alien' in front, or at least 'Secret military'. But seeing as this is from the military, it makes it more implicit that it's alien.

One of the eye openers for me in this was the average ranges, 475 miles vs 190. ICE cars have 2.5x the range of electric cars. I always assumed it was much more e.g. 800 miles vs 100 miles. According to this graph [0] the price per kWh of b
