I don't know enough about computer security, but I think the talk from Joanna Rutkowska about 'Towards (reasonably) trustworthy x86 laptops' [0] is basically pushing for 'hack resistance' from a different angle, with a stateless laptop. I guess that's focussing more on verifying the lack of hacks rather than making it unhackable.
