Chipsets have all sort of properties, including the instruction set, the consumption as you mention, their physical size and heat profile (related to consumption, but can be influenced by other factors) that make them better or worse for so

Would you make the same line of comment on a anandtech chipset review, arguing it's ridiculously technical and doesn't take into account the art of progamming ? I am pretty glad dpreview does these kind of technical reviews, it ni

I can also remove SMS as 2FA on my account, but I’ve had to give a phone number on all my accounts at different points in time, and they got confirmed by SMS. What I was pointing at is not that SMS is the only option but that the phone numb

A lot of people commenting on using 2FA options other than SMS, but to the best of my knowledge it will only work after you’ve already associated a phone number to the account. Wanted to check if I’m just dumb, and all recent answer point t

I’d see those as one day internship to get to know an organization and what they do day to day. The same way as companies allow kids to come to “do” their parent’s work for one day, it’s more of a PR move + keeping your org in touch with pe

I think our industry is big enough to have some parts where your point applies, and other pockets with completely different dynamics. Two caveats I would put is: we can do self-development and learning during our job hours, I'd argue i

Isn’t it actually an issue that soldiers are so bored in completely remote places for months and months? People engaging in the army to get some hot action sure would have liked to know more about that aspect, and for better or worse the g

One could argue the original band-aid was just rubber colored and non-racial in some way, but keeping ignoring it matched light color skins better was becoming a choice in itself. Emojis are the same to me, in that they were introduced with

We can’t eternally keep the status quo just to avoid opening cans of worms. If we don’t intend to throw it away, we might as well open it and face the worms. This all reaction reminds me of the “new” skin tone palette of band aids: some peo

The people in these stories don’t buy diamond for their mechanical properties or bore tunnels, so everything surrounding the diamond itself is what matters. How it was mined, where it came from, which company sells it and how all of that is

Not a lawyer, but I would assume so. I remember it as a matter of consent and most resources point to it being OK as long we both parties are aware. e.g. http://www.dmlp.org/legal-guide/recording-phone-calls-and-co...

To me it's worse than that, as service providers will record calls and use these recording only at their benefit. In these situations where recording is agreed by both parties, getting restricted on the individual side is frustrating.

The tax case takes so long because they have a participating government on their side, and it’s far to be clear cut on a legal perspective. The app store issue is in many respects simpler.

Yes, it's really a disservice to have "Please contact your administrator for assistance" messages, putting the user in a "you should get some help" position that rubs a lot of people the wrong way.

This is the interesting takeaway from the current situation: lockdown exceptions directly reflect priorities, and while teachers and parents were crying bloody murder the school stayed open to allow people to go to work.
