It's sort of amazing to me that you even wrote this. It's shocking. A typical fast food establishment. Say Chikfila will clear 15k of revenue on a typical slow night. On a good night easily 25k. An 8 hour shift at $20 an hour is

USA is extremely behind on housing raw numbers by about 20 million homes based on population growth. We stopped building in 2008. Almost no homes were built that year. It took 10 years to ramp back up. Just in the past 2-3 years started to

Assertions about safety are irrelevant. This is not what this law is addressing. Furthermore anyone who has used even automatic lane tracking knows their concentration falls off rapidly when they aren't actually driving so a "safe

Are people on HN really that cynical to say that autonomous logic can't navigate a highway? These trucks are gonna be used for depot to depot transfers with human drivers taking over for urban / last mile destinations.

Comcast would drop all the error logs for all the cable boxes in the country into splunk. I then queried this to figure out the error code count in a given period. It's really the only thing that can handle the volume.

Exactly this. We're in the best possible time to deal with it since everyone has a power pack with an attached solar panel and so many homes have solar now. Generators would work just fine as well. We'd be back up in a week tops.

From my understanding it mostly effects large pieces of metal like copper lines but would be unlikely to create a significant charge in small electronics and wouldn't destroy solar panels or the vast majority of components. Any transfo
