Yeah, that's sort of what I thought. This "On the flip side, Kim Dotcom will lose the ability to use the data to defend himself after pleading not guilty to piracy," seems very strange to me. Obviously, if the data were to be deleted, it wo

I was kind of hoping this would be about accessing an external hard disk from my brain. I can't count the number of times I wished I could've saved a few seconds by not having to look everything up on the internet.

That doesn't change the point though, does it? Obviously, not everyone has a tendency to underestimate how long it will take to complete a task, depending on both the person and the task. In fact, if an estimation group routinely did this

Agreed. A curious question that immediately popped in my head was: would it be ethical to use the fear of the public for disruption by global warming (whether it's true or not)? This fear could be used for good purposes, such as trying to i

You can't. If you can, it means you don't give a carp at all what people think about you (as in NOT AT ALL), which means you're a psychopath. It's good to take some things personally. At least, I don't really see how one can improve him/her

Well, of course people shouldn't take many of these things personally. What he describes is just slightly modified actor-observer bias (or asymmetry), a well-understood phenomenon in psychology. (For those who had not yet heard of the term,

There may be some obscure things Excel can do that Calc can't, but I've never had to do anything on a spreadsheet Calc can't do yet. Besides, Calc can use Python macros.

How is compatibility a problem? Google Docs, OpenOffice.org and LibreOffice can all save their spreadsheets in .xls format. Also, if I have to worry about this kind of thing, it means I'm working with people who voluntarily use NT. Nothing

Which country do you live in? I don't know about the quality of schools in general here (the Netherlands), but I've met too many people who say they "can't do math" to think very highly of our elementary educational system. Granted, though,

Make sure you're not simply stocking up on proteins. This can cause you to lose a lot of water, leading you to believe you're losing 'weight'. You might be, but in this case unfortunately, water != fat. Though if you're just 'eating as much
