In general I agree, but yesterday I saw a car blow through a stop sign at an intersection and then honk at the cars going perpendicularly through the intersection (they had no stop signs) :/ people are pretty happy to be confidently wr

Definitely this. I spent a few weeks trying to eat 'no added sugar or sweetener or high fructose corn syrup' and it was incredibly difficult, tons of things I would've assumed didn't have sugar (bread, salad dressing, co

Fascinating! Can I ask how you use ChatGPT for debugging? are the bugs you've used it with more high level, "this is what's happening" kind of things? Or could you give an example?

off the top of my head, I can think of gay couples, people with genetic/health issues they don't want to pass on to their child. There are probably other demographics, but fwiw male sperm counts seem to be going down at a large sc

Huh, how was the reputation determined? Was it like a quantified & automated thing, or more casual like, a senior developer decides you need to do more testing since you’ve broken too much stuff.

Wow, what a great campervan. I've seen some of the egg-like old japanese campervans but not one like yours. Very cool!

That sounds really useful! I did something at a lower level, it was basically “defensive driving for teens” (I was 28 and twice the age of everyone else there, lol). It was run by a former racing car instructor in Phoenix and they had a FWD

This is very, very neat. I've seen a lot of cool looking learn math sites that stop after (best case) freshman college math. I have a BS in math but there were some courses I never felt I got or it's been so long (>10 years)

I would say (imo) most of the target market of this Hummer EV are not the people who are primarily concerned about environmental damage. One could argue that this encourages people who are driving ICE-equivalent cars to make the jump to EV.

I actually don’t know Donald Glover’s political views, but I do know Scott Adams’s political views because he’s very outspoken about them and he keeps complaining about “cancel culture”. In general, I’m pretty tired of comedians making low

I feel like his tone has changed over the years. A lot of his earlier work felt more jokey or ridiculous and his newer, recent work just feels like not-very-funny topical one-liners.

I personally find it funny at face-value but the joke does get ruined for me because, as you say, it's just a veil for certain beliefs. I used to enjoy a lot more of Aronson's work until I realized he was just strawmanning the vie

I would say in the last generation, we’ve really had a ton of incredible new textiles be developed. Spandex and its blends in particular has added a lot of comfort in clothing, and wasn’t even that widespread ~15 years ago in comparison to

I think "lots of 1:1s" sounds great but is pretty draining to implement. I love chatting with my coworkers 1:1 - I feel like people can't/don't talk as much in group meetings so the 1:1s are nice to maintain a conn
