"Covid is over" is inaccurate and is at best very US/EU-centric. There is a reason though that I specifically called out all contagious illnesses. I can tell you that I got colds and the flu much more often in college than I

It's clear the donor purposefully designed the rooms to be unpleasant to get people up into common rooms. It's just... weird. It doesn't matter if it looks good or bad but uncomfortable design like this is bizarrely aggressiv

I wouldn’t have expected a need for a “gendered” debit card - it’s pretty crazy that young women are so disproportionately “behind” in building their credit. I will admit I fell in that category a few years ago (didn’t get a credit card unt

Out of curiosity (not to draw any parallels to this situation), were there any skiiers who performed the quad backflip in competition before the ban?

I imagine it comes down to risk. Anecdotally I did food prep for my college dining hall and we had a decent number of people asking for sandwiches on gluten-free bread, but we only had one who asked for a very strict protocol (had to be fro

That's a great point I hadn't really thought about. There's not much of a difference between this and calling Covid-19 the "China Virus", besides the intent of the speaker.

> You'd need to convince workers to not believe that someone who says sexist stuff in a book is going to cause a problem for them. This resonated with me. Anecdotally, I sometimes wonder if small, unpleasant interactions (e.g. getti

Yep, Boston frequently tops lists of cities with the best public transportation in the country. Really wish more cities had that infrastructure.

In these times, where "news" can absolutely be "pulled out of their butts", I do think it's important to consider the partiality of any author. Even things that can be fact-checked may not tell the entire story - e.

I find it pretty hard to believe your source, considering it's a self-identifying conservative site blaming "big tech censorship".

I think that's one of the points of the article, or at least an observation. Bodybuilding made her more attractive to men, then as she excelled, made her much less attractive to them. The world changed around her as she changed appeara

Surprisingly, many don't. The 2020 Nissan Rogue and the Kia Seltos for example both only got 4 (I'll admit I don't know how bad that is compared to 5 stars) so the NHTSA rating still acts as a differentiator to me at least.

As an aside, I do want to point out for the record (if anyone looking for a puppy sees this link) that Lancaster Puppies is a known platform for puppy mills. I would not recommend finding a dog there.

"With no prior warning" is a tough one. Pit Bull Terriers and other bully-type dogs are known to have high prey drives, and you can't really be surprised if one goes after a cat or small dog. I'm pretty tired of both t

Intact dogs (of both genders) can go to obedience or dog sport classes (I'm assuming that's what you mean by socialization classes). It could definitely depend on the facility but I've taken classes across 3 different facilit

Sure, but SF is temperate year-round. Winter weather cycling's definitely doable but I immensely prefer cycling in SF year round, where I don't have to plan ahead or remember any warm gear. And I find not being able to bike for er

SF has a phenomenal climate though in comparison. The public transportation is lacking but I mind walking or bike a lot less in SF winters as opposed to NYC winters.

Bizarre. I'd like to think the majority of people don't fall into "baby talk" - that's just incredibly immature. To be honest, they sound like terrible people and probably aren't people that you'd want to
