I'll stick to the favorite job that's "in my career" to keep with the theme I sense OP is wanting. I did a lot of manual / hard labor in middle, high school, and college, and studied engineering. My favorite job was

This comment really resonates with me. As someone who doesn't drink anymore, I've found how much of a hermit I am and how much I'm okay with that and how it's my true self. I really have few friends, and the ones I do I

There's two sides to the immigration issue. On one hand, you can bring some very great people who are in terrible situations and will work their damndest to contribute and create a life for their family. On the other hand, Western coun

I think this is just the beginning of a whole wave of open source behind paywall type of deal. Ubuntu put the Amazon store app in their distro, for Christ's sake. The only downside I see to this (I don't care to get involved in th

Good to see a pilot here! I personally never see this aircraft ever getting certified. The SR22 was over $100 million total when getting their type certificate, and nothing was "ground breaking." It has a continental motor, Garmin

1. I'd typically ask your lawyer or financial person (if you have either) for someone they would recommend. 2. If the owners actually believe in their business and think it's not a trend / fluke, they should be willing to pla

My advice. I don't work in your industry but I find the following to be universally true: 1) hire a broker 2) do your damn-dist to have them sell you a good chunk of the business on a promissory note. it will force them to have skin in

I think the honest reality is that the game is rigged and dependent on a perpetual 7% growth type cycle. We have indebted future generations so much that it's going to crumble or the next 200 years of western civilization will be held

I'm in the same boat, but as a contract engineer in science. I have some cash savings, hate my day to day job, and dream of having a small machine shop producing aircraft parts (I'm a pilot and sell some aircraft parts on the side

I'm an engineer who does a lot of "applied research" projects. I've used (still do some) octave quite a bit. There's nothing like octave (or MATLAB) for scripting to "get shit done." There is a plethora of

I hope people realize I'm not just shutting on the EU with my post. It is legitimately hard to emigrate ANYWHERE, let alone another country that doesn't speak your language and has cultural differences. Hell, I couldn't live,

100% true. America subsidizes many states and sectors of the nation. But we are able to do this because there is a common representation.

So it's better to subsidize the union now, instead of deal with other countries refugees in the future?

I think the largest issues with the EU is that it is fundamentally flawed for one main reason: all these countries are tied to the hip to each other due to the currency and singe market, but cannot control the others economies or spending.

You stole my comment! I fly my Cessna 206 about 200 hours a year. If there's bad weather ... I just wait it out or schedule my event the tail end of the trip. I won't fly commercial unless it's international now.

It's called indirect cost overhead. Universities take anywhere from 0-100% (yes, you read that 100% right) of money they take in.
