I find that apologetic behaviour strange too. You own a Tesla, it's a good car, no need to be sorry for its frontman. I mean I kinda get it? But everyone's doing it and it's weird. It's almost like writing a review of me

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that the actual code itself is stable, just that the compiled kernel API/ABI isn't. So if you open source your drivers and get them accepted into the kernel, then you don't need to

Well said and I share the same sentiment. AI is not inherently bad, but the hype and the culture surrounding it most certainly has at least weird if not bad vibes (looking at you r/singularity).

Completely agree with mnky9800n and tanepiper as well. I was diagnosed when I was 32 when suffering from a burnout. It surprised me how thorough the research was on "do I have it or not". Childhood records were needed and my paren

Good call, had the same song in mind when writing the comment. But anyways different times + Eminem rapped about copycat rappers and not about someone deepfaking your whole being on the internet.

I agree on the technical aspect. But still there are some voices that are just highly associated with just one person in everyone's minds, like David Attenborough. For example, if I heard Attenborough speaking my local train announceme

But that's exactly what's interesting with this! Everything can't just be viewed through the lens of costs, the effort to make something unnatural like this in real life is part of the art itself. If you're just looking

I fed the chain-of-thought prompt to GTP-4o and got a correct answer back. I then got the idea to say that the answer was incorrect to see if it would recalculate and come back with the same answer. As you could guess already, it arrived on

Ah fair point, should've read it more carefully. I'm tuning my probabilities back to 99%, I still don't believe just feeding more data to the LLM will do it. But I'll give the chance a possibility.

Pure LLM based approach will not lead to AGI, I'm 100% sure. A new research paper has shown [0] that no matter what LLM model is used, it exhibits diminishing returns, when you would be wanting at least a linear curve when looking for

My 2 cents on why I think at the moment that I would find AI-driven games boring in the future (to clear confusion I think games are art): - Amazing art is rare. Finding this amazing art nowadays is hard, with AI generated mumbojumbo increa

It surely can generate something better than the old "Fetch this item and come back" quests, but I wouldn't say the possibilities are endless, so eventually you would get bored of the same repeating AI quests the same way as

Ah Westworld is a good example! I liked the series and the premise, but I still wouldn't liken the park to a good game - it's a theme park with nice attractions. As c048 said best ( https://news.ycombinator.com/item

Even if the dialogue wouldn't be generic like ChatGPT tends to be, I would find this incredibly boring. With so many options all the options become meaningless to me. But to each their own I guess - I've always liked games with li

I think that's just an artifact, as they can also produce heavy metal scream singing etc. It just mimics something that was in the training data. My guess is that they train the vocals and the music separately, the training data is tri

As far as I know, current ad blockers can't block ads from Widevine (DRM protected) streams, so I guess it's only a matter of time until Chromium team comes up with Widevine for webpages and then it's game over for normal con

Yeah same here. Feels stupid sometimes though to transfer a 2GB file from my pc to my laptop through Telegram's servers when I could do it in my LAN but nothing has beaten Telegram's UX for me so far so I always wound up using it.
