TIL that the GUI of ReactOS isn't based on React. All these years spent baffled that who would like to build an OS with JS, thanks to me only reading the headlines lol

Animal Well wouldn't exist without Handmade Hero, Billy himself said it in an interview. The first game architecture he made was RAII etc and full of spaghetti and then he actually followed Handmade Hero and started to getting somewher

Well Billy Basso was hugely inspired by the Handmade Hero series and went on to make the critically acclaimed Animal Well because of it. That's enough of a win for that series in my eyes.

I don't disagree, but facial expressions is like 50% of acting if not more. That's why I said "Half of Andy Serkis' job portraying Gollum was done by animators"

Half of Andy Serkis' job portraying Gollum was done by animators, even though Serkis provided the basic facial expressions. I would've given him the best voice acting award though.

Ok I'm not as up to date with modern black metal, that pseudonymity seems cool. There's also upcoming math rock band Angine de Poitrine who are also anonymous https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Ssi-9wS1so . In these

Hmm I can think of various examples where the guitarist was changed and people dismiss the new guitarist. Take a look at Megadeth for example - every new solo guitarist gets compared to Marty Friedman even though he hasn't been in the

I don't quite understand what you're getting at with this comment? In metal and punk it's pretty cornerstone of the genre to be authentic, and in metal to value human skills (all the solo parts, fast playing). I've playe

Do you understand how much you are talking only out of your experience? You aren't even considering that people will react differently to seeing that stuff, or that people might not find cynicism in the human nature (or realism as you

You're talking about content. Only content can be "perfect" as you say. When I'm listening to music, looking at art, seeing a play or a short film I want to feel connection to the humans behind it. AI is by definition mi

Have you questioned whether you might have been better off without seeing ISIS decapitation videos when you were a teenager (you might be too old for that though)? Or maybe that you have something that makes you more immune to this stuff? I

Note that while Godot's formats support being text based (.tscn and .tres) you get a massive speed boost in saving and loading once you convert to using .scn and .res for everything that is over 1MB in size. If you add a high-res model

Really well said, I hate that every time I say I value craftmanship, skill and effort in art people flock to this reductionism "well did the painter make his own dyes? Did the developer make his own processor to run the game in?"

Nice work, must have been a pain to get Godot's formats working with Claude. As another commenter suggested the demo videos don't do any justice to this project - yeah it's the magic that you can generate playable (wouldn

You have a point and I agree now that my point on things being expensive was the wrong one. The problem is that junk food is so much easier to get than healthy food.

I can believe that unfortunately. Good regulation is hard to do without lobbyists getting what they want at the expense of people.

I can only speak from my own experience but if you want to have a healthy diet (enough protein and calories) where I'm from it costs a lot more than just buying cheap junk food. Well, the proteins cost.
