I single news article, certainly. A handful of news articles, probably. But news articles can be effectively used to support strategic decision making. It's done all the time. In my case I believe that putting trade secrets on an AWS c

I'll be spec'ing a project soon where I think the organization's data should be self hosted. I'm going to show them this piece.

Yes. Money can buy a lot of things that are more enjoyable to be mindful of, but not everything.

For me mindfulness has been like a flaming tire around my neck. Too much thinking. And WTH does one do with a Masters in Philosophy? Nice article BTW...

Don't worry, I've seen plenty of bigoted and racially insensitive comments made by Trump's predecessor.

Looks like hearsay to me, but if he made that remark, it was a stupid thing to say. While there is no wider context, the remark itself still doesn't indicate that he hates black people.

I suppose you and I have very different definitions of racism, but I'm not seeing it in anything you've provided. Countries of origin and religion are not race. And, to me, racism is harmful actions or words motivated by a hatred

FB may contribute to fascism in every corner of the universe, but the author specifically said the US president is a fascist. That's a patently absurd statement. And that's why I balled up the article and threw it away.

"...a role in putting a fascist, white supremacist in the White House" It's a petulant and a false statement on so many levels. The president is neither a fascist nor a racist. And anyone claiming someone is such should be wi

I liked Ross Perot and he would have been a terrific president but damn him for not at least trying to primary Bush and allowing the Clintons into the White House.

Yeah, this something I think about. Back in the 80s a friend's younger brother was hit by a car while on his bike. He was in a coma for over two months and his family was ready to write him off, so to speak. One morning he wakes up and

Investigative journalists are ALWAYS trying to bait their targets. They wouldn't have a job if they didn't!

I am certain that adjudicated crimes of misrepresentation and trespassing are not unprecedented in investigative journalism.

Do you mean like mainstream television news does? The reason I ask is because I have not noticed any big or even significant shifts in context between whatever snippets they release and any raw footage that makes it out afterwards. That

On some teams I've managed, I have had that one developer that's a great producer, but projected a great deal of negative energy into the group. This situation has to be dealt with as soon as it's recognized. Some of the acti

Fuel taxes are high enough for America. It's not fair to compare the US and the EU. The EU has an extra trillion or so per year to spend on swanky infrastructure and entitlements since it doesn't have to outlay much for its own de

Yeah! And don't forget Shepard Fairey for the visuals. I hope you're incorporated because you could make a fortune in the agitprop business. Just sell the people what they never knew they needed.

You make this sound so easy. Ok, let's do it! Seriously, I agree with your end goal in the reduction of man-made CO2 emissions. I even agree, in spirit, with items 3 and 4 above. What I don't agree with is the sudden dismantling o

Urban/Suburban infill development is a terrific idea. It's being accomplished at a far faster clip than a lot of people realize, but there could be better incentives at the federal level (US). Fuel taxes are pretty high already. I
