I am not without complaints over my government (United Kingdom) - but they did manage to built an online tax system, without suddenly deciding that private companies would enhance the experience. By all means fine the bejeesus out of Intuit

I can only speak for myself, but I think the answer is "No.. sortof.. it depends.. maybe?" Writing an epic and a dozen US is definitely a lot quicker for one person to do, than it is for a team to implement it. So from that side,

I've no issue with the title. It's a pretty big milestone on the journey. Non-renewables are going to be around for a very long time, as the sun and wind can't be turned up based on demand - but kind-of nice to see them releg

There are also "code adjacent" jobs. Aside from a few weeks training on an unrelated Masters I'm IT-unqualified, but got a job with an IT company making software for an industry. I started out coding, but knew I was never goi

I suspect that a great salary helps attract/retain - but (and I'm not a rockstar coder who has to worry about this) - but out of the FAANGs, Facebook on the surface looks to be the least interesting. There's the big social me

Exploitative education has been around for decades - I'm just bemused how it manages to survive in IT. And I do blame 'IT' for not snuffing it out. With a computer and an internet connection, there's more education avail

I think the important thing, is whether this is e2e manufacturing or just assembly. I mean if you can repair a phone yourself, you've got the skills to assemble a new one. What China has and what I guess India really needs, is the mass

I quite enjoyed that. Few (hopefully helpful) bits of feedback: 1) Would be nicer if it wasn't just an endless list of question cards. Maybe have new ones sliding in on the right, with answered ones going off to the left. 2) Visually s

Now that strikes me as the most plausible - bright yellow suits with a russian flag, do seem both a 'little planned' and a 'little Ukraine related' Given that's not gone to plan, the 'erm we had a lot of yellow

I choose to see that as plausible deniability. But then there's also a great big russian flag worked into the suit. But then there's the 'why didn't they say it was college colours?" Who knows?

I don't think that's true. Credit cards, paypal and all the rest existed before bitcoin. I mean it's nifty that I can do it without a single intermediary authority, but it's not that special. I think the lack of revoca

Was just pondering if you could unionize (in a very loose way). Come up with your own set of rules that come within google's, peer review each other to ensure that you meet your own rules - then if google pulls one of you, the rest of

Well the reason the posts are cringe, is because they're all written by the people who think posting to linkedin is a good idea. A bit like Facebook - except you don't actually like any of them.
