I struggle with comments like these. It's too vague to be useful to discuss, yet vagueness is exactly the intention. It's an extreme form of paranoia, yet relatable in its delusions of grandeur. I'll continue to be political

What reason is there to trust any provider when you don't have direct read access to their servers?

Yes it should, so many places use it when they actually just mean "until our costs start getting overboard since we didn't account for more than 0.0000002% of people to use above X limits", or with so much fine print that the

It also feeds into this idea that you can prepare for the worst, but the human condition when pushed to its limits does not abide by rules. Everyone loves to think about how they'll handle attackers, but never spend much time thinking

I don't see the benefit of this when you can reach for the internet and find a magnitude of thoughts on the very same issue with a very different perspective. I also think thoughts from others are the only way to adjust your own bias a

I don't know how much of that is true, but yes the intention is to cause disruption to ad systems that encourage data profiling and so groups involved from publishers to the auction owners will be distrustful of one another increasingl

Not sure you've solved the complexity when you've just slotted in another front to a general solution that is over-engineered. You could have replaced either scenarios with a single NextJS or SvelteKit solution. Go above and beyon

I can only see that experience being true if you've never used jquery (aka the same shorthands you're relying on within htmx and likely hyperscript).

It's an industry standard for people who like React. It's really that simple. This idea that they are so dominant and everyone is forced to use it is complete hogwash. JQuery and Wordpress still dominate the web completely.

The complexity is just shifted around from JS to HTMX (or hypothetically, html). Not a noticeable improvement.

Animations require consistency to work and generations are still very bad at consistency. You can see this in action through any AI generated video, that "flickering" are tiny inconsistencies between frames that throw the entire t

It's why meditation apps can be so useful, there are so many options in the 10-20 minute range and you feel much better than trying to time a nap and setting a horrible alarm sound to wake you up. Most of them also have nice endings, i
