Agree completely. I don't feel I was being contrarian here just to be contrarian. I do think it's silly that MM is posting on this. I do think the WP community is considerably more sensitive than other tech sectors with which I

Replying because this is interesting. I disagree with the article and some of the contents of the thread. I've explained why and answered questions directly. Contrarian POV isn't adding to the thread? I'm not baiting, asking

Fair enough. You might be surprised (or not) how much software has stolen bits and how much data isn't exportable in any useful format. But glad to see all my comments on this topic keep getting down voted.

I didn't use "but" and I don't care if it's offensive. The WP community clutches its pearls anytime the slightest offense takes place. The CEO of a multibillion dollar enterprise just took the time to write a post

Not allowing content exports isn't shady. Happens on a lot of platforms and systems. Stealing code- there are remedies for that, which Auto and the foundation are free to pursue.

Sure, accessibility continues to be an issue. The head of WP marketing - who has contributed a ton over the years - learned she was out of a job when she saw the announcement of a new marketing lead on social media. WordPress is great, but

Relax, it's marketing. It isn't "Shady" to take aim at competitors (or other solutions) when trying to get attention.

I'm a WordPress guy but don't really understand Matt's post here. He doesn't like how Wix is trying to gain market share. Ok, fine. And? So what. Lots of companies market themselves in ways that some people don'

I don't accept this premise. What data are you relying on to suggest YC participation is an indicator, much less a key indicator, of a higher chance of success than a "typical" startup?

He's such a good marketer. There is a case to be made that he's participating (often) in fraud to pump up the stock price, but people keep buying it so...whatever.

Quip isn't an Office competitor. Just because it offers similar functionality doesn't make it a competitor.

I don't understand. What argument are you tired of hearing? Teams has more users than Slack. Doesn't matter how/why they got them.

This is really well written and helps make plain something that can get pretty dicey quite quickly. The main thing I would spotlight to new companies looking to add sales people: make their comp exactyl the same and use a formula (this one

I didn't think it was a jerk comment at all. Your point is 100% right though. Early startup employees rarely understand the risk/reward. Surely none of the 10 employees at a 7 year old software company doing 1.6M a year thought t
