A "diff" is the output of cmd "diff", also more famously "git diff". This is the same format you can apply diffs with "git apply x.diff"

This is perplexing to read. What is the last piece of art you consumed that was generated by AI? Have you read such a book, seen an imafe, listened to an album?

Exactly, I like implementing compilers and I personally never bother with anything other than reference counting nowadays. Ref count gives a very easy to reason semantics. So I count as a feature in my language even if it's slower th

Because people like living close to other people, and living in a human-dense environment makes this a lot more practical and easy. I don't understand what is there not to understand? You do know that some people are social creatures r

Is there anyone who can recommend an abstraction over Vulkan? Any language would work. I suppose the recommendation would be different based on whether you need GPU compute or GPU graphics, but I don't know. Ideas?

I wouldn't be surprised if this is a correlation. My quality of life increased significantly after I got my cat about 2 years ago (just before COVID!). I say to anyone who ask, getting a cat was likely the best decision I ever made. Si

Saying "you're slow" doesn't solve anything. I know I'm slow, but I'm still faster when there is a robust type system with good guarantees.

You can still write code, test it, debug it, release to production; then weeks or months later someone finds a bug in it (in prod). GP's point is that this kind of debugging sucks a lot more time than writing feature's v1 code fro

But why, I don't understand. These conversations need to be had somewhere, why not in a bug tracker where developer said they won't fix it? There already is an argument not to fix it, why can't others support fixing it?

Can you elaborate what is "took forever to get rid of"? My cat had hookworms too as he was a shelter cat. It took 3 rounds of medication to finally cure it (I haven't seen a worm since June 2020). My vet said that's pret

How can you do ISA-agnostic JIT unless you implement a separate backend for each ISA? I.e. is it possible to write a JIT in a generic way such that it'll work for a class of ISAs?

This comment is not any more appropriate to this thread than any thread involving a product using plastic. Just because the product is small and made of plastic parts doesn't mean it produces more micro-plastics.
