Yes, you're naive. Maybe if your a worker on a factory line and only being paid to turn a wrench, then sure. But at tech firms, you're being paid to think.

> Why wasn't this the original way of doing things? Someone wanted to do a feature so they could get promoted. Probably with some mumbo jumbo about how it reduces the number of clicks to create a tweet and thus increases revenue.

Ok but if they lied about what they had the ability to offer, how do you interpret that as "not bad"? I don't care if they had good customer service, or were working on a shoestring budget. If they sold something they couldn&

Yes, thank you for saying so. People rarely understand that the coordination solution is one of the most important powers the government offers over privatization. They can tax/penalize undesired behavior. Individual companies may end

Aka "three card monte". People get tricked because they don't realize it's a team of people, not just one. And if you notice the trick? Well, they out number you. You probably won't win in a fight either.

This doesn't make sense. Consider right now, in the restaurant industry in the US. Resaurants are increasing their pay. These are for jobs like McDonalds. The kind of jobs that people always use to point out work that is trivial, and

That doesn't make a lot of sense. If they thought that they could take a golden exit, they wouldn't be continuing to setup the business again under new rules to avoid government scrutiny. They'd just take the money and disapp

I think this roughly answers a question that I've been wondering about: Why don't cyber criminals hack into the energy grid, water, or other utilities? Surely their cyber security is outdated right? Well, their cyber security may

This is it. Governments have cyber abilities that far outstrip individual organizations. And when cyber fails, there are still other diplomatic and less diplomatic tools. I wouldn't be surprised if the US Government here reached out

The car is a black box. Gas goes in, vroom comes out. If the box stops working, I pay someone to fix it. You might argue I'm not car literate, but I'm not sure that is particularly insightful, as the type of specialized knowledge

But isn't it though? Does someone literate in film need to make movies? Why can't someone be literate in tech without writing html?

Agree. Plus, anyone who has gotten into streaming knows that there is a learning curve which introduces the streamer to all sorts of hardware and software. The best streamers often invent specialized solutions for their needs.

I think you can't revoke your citizenship of a country, but the country probably can still choose to exile you. I imagine it's not done commonly though.

I think, expanding on this, it's important to note that persona-non-grata is given to a person who hasn't necessarily been accused of any crime. They just aren't welcome. In fact, a person who commits a crime might actually b

If they aren't worth minimum wage, they wouldn't get hired to begin with. If they are worth hiring, they are worth minimum wage, even with supervision. You get what you pay for. Pay more money if you want more competent workers.
