We buy Forager (cashew) yogurt for smoothies. Have no idea regarding how it compares — though there’s a lot of plant-based cultured products out there. I’ve seen some interesting accounts on Instagram of people who make their own cultured p

Oat milk was what got me to drop whole milk (and now ice cream with oat based deserts). That was pretty much the remaining bit in terms of being full vegan. I still eat local eggs and fish maybe once a year. But as a latte drinker, milk had

The land needs to be converted to natural forest if we want a shot at significant reduction of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Agroforestry and silvopasture are the next best things, but a huge problem with animal agriculture is the lan

I learned to drum listening to Led Zeppelin and Rolling Stones albums my dad set up for me in the garage. Watts is one of those great drummers who a lot of people miss because on the surface he seems simple. But, he’s hands down one of the

The author’s point seems to be that everyone exaggerates in a direction that best serves their desired political outcome. What he misses is the obvious — he exaggerates as well, in the direction of “moderation.” His desired outcome is that

You know who’s more likely to vote for a carbon tax? People who are already committed to making a change. People who are already making changes in their own lives. To fix climate change, everyone will need to make changes to their lives. Do

It sounds like you feel strongly that agriculture is accurately represented by this very outdated EPA assessment. I really don’t have time to have a drawn out debate on it and we’ll have to agree to disagree. But for you or anyone else who

I have read the entire report — several years ago. I also own a farm that’s converting from conventional to regenerative practices, and around 20 acres of conservation projects to restore natural savanna and oak woodland. What you’re seeing

This cultural meme of the past several years that people shouldn’t make what changes they can because no one else will change is pretty awful. There’s a good argument to be made that by building a critical mass among some percentage of the

The EPA graphs on Agriculture emissions are misleading. They don’t include things like the petrochemical production that goes primarily to creating fertilizer, the transportation costs that are baked into the global food production system,

In some cases the mono mixes were the ones the Beatles themselves were present for. Some of the stereo mixes were the audio engineers experimenting on their own — this is why Beatles mono mixes are highly sought-after. Can’t recall whether

The methane aspect of cattle production sticks in people's minds, but you’ve highlighted the actual problem with it that doesn’t get covered much: land use change. And it’s not just the grazing cattle, it’s the mind-boggling number of

Doesn’t sound exactly like the poster child for carbon capture (which I believe we need in some form). For one, ethanol — I would have to double check this but last time I looked, ethanol represent a very tiny sliver of the energy pie. But
