I've tried a couple of syntax-highlighting editors. I'm starting to get annoyed at them. The problem is when they don't do it right, and it's impossible to configure it to have the correct behavior. For example, JetBean

Don't give out SSN or Birthdate information until after an on-site interview when you're at the offer stage. Someone dishonest can use that information for identity theft. I'm already starting to be concerned about age discr

From a candidate's viewpoint, the NYC job market seems really bad right now. I've been semi-looking for a couple months with no interviews. If you had a junior candidate and a senior candidate offering to work for the same rate,

It might make sense for someone switching technology stacks. Most of my experience is C/C++/PHP. Suppose I want to get a job using Python. I'm not senior, because I don't have 5+ years Python experience. I'm not

You aren't someone's bosd if you don't have authority to fire them. I've dealt with people like that. You explain something to them 5 times and they still don't get it. Some people just don't have the talent.

If you have a specific job offer from someplace else that is more than you would get by staying, take it! Go! When I recently switched from a startup for a 30% raise, the CEO was pretty hostile. It actually made me feel better about leavi

You have great negotiating leverage. There is some $$ where you would be an idiot to leave. Ask for that $$. If you don't get it, leave. If they delay and stall, interpret the answer as "NO". Start interviewing.

You're missing the process by which textbooks are chosen. The professor, or one of his friends, writes a textbook. That is now the required textbook for the class, and the professor gets a cut of the profits. Some textbooks are so good

It's also because designers in the USA copy each other. A couple of trend setters declare that "flat design" is best, and now everyone is doing flat design. In 2 years it'll be another style where everyone is copying ea

You didn't give enough information to answer. Most importantly, what experience do you already have? Do you have a specific job opportunity for SAP, or are you just learning it in hopes it will be useful someday? SAP is a niche skill.

The problem is that, in Math papers in journals, there's charges based on the number of pages used. You really would need an electronic format, and a wiki-style format that graduate students can use, to fill in the details of all the p

Even if you're targeting candidates who are unemployed and desperate, you can still find a way to screen them without requiring them to waste 1-2 days for the chance of maybe getting an interview. For example, asking someone to switch

It's kind of pointless. If the police have already identified you as a target, there are too many other tactics they can use. For example, they could just set up a hidden camera that records you when you are using your PC.
