How does this argument apply to Google? When you search something e.g. is climate change real, Google ranks the results algorithmically. If Google doesn't do fact checking, are they liable for false statements?

Why is TPU support important to openAI? They run their code on Microsoft servers. Only a tiny percentage of people use colab for deep learning. Also, if you search PyTorch tpu you can find details of preliminary support from Google. PyTor

Title is misleading, they're not bringing the speech engine to everyone, you still have to pay for Google cloud API requests. They're merely open sourcing the Android app that calls out to the API. See the GitHub link in the artic

Just a nit, in my personal experience, 8/10 CS papers are available for free. The other 2/10 are CS papers published in IEEE or other closed journals.

I have the iPad Air 2, released in 2014 and looks identical to the new iPad released today. It has the latest OS updates and it's never had any performance issues. Why would someone upgrade from this 5 year old device?
