Many restaurant owners in the bay area are annoyed at Google and Facebook, because they keep on hiring away their line cooks and other staff with higher pay and better benefits. I suppose this article is on the front page because it bashes

Apologies if this is off topic, but I've never read such a well researched science article, citing many primary resources and papers. Well done.

What are you looking for in deployment friendliness? There's TorchScript to run your code faster (which is a work in progress)

Why is NSA surveillance awesome? Even if you don't like tech companies.

Some websites offer a different experience if you access them from an IP address from the EU. So playing Devils advocate, maybe they don't violate GDPR. Edit: curious why I was downvoted, did I say anything wrong or offensive?

Okay, but even if that were true, both Mark and Sheryl are Democrats. You can see a picture of Sheryl with Hilary Clinton on her profile page, posted before the election.

It's in the article, 5th paragraph. It would be nice to know why my original post was downvoted, did people assume I was racist? I referenced a sentence in the article and stated a fact about Facebook that contradicts what was said.

Why is a random Twitter rant on the front page of hacker news? Also re: Jew haters, he does realize that the top two people at Facebook are Jewish, right? (Mark and Sheryl)

Surprised this is on the front page, when it's clearly not true. Markdown support for statuses is only available for Workplace accounts.

There are lots of popular nonfiction books that aren't simplistic. They just may be older than you would expect. For example, On the Origin of Species is a book packed with information, yet still approachable by most. You can find boo

I know this comment is a joke, but this is actually how react was created. Facebook made a templating language in php called xhp ( https://docs.hhvm.com/hack/XHP/introduction ) and some people at fb developed react

I'm having trouble making sense of your comment. If your company knew about credible threats ( disgruntled employees, bomb threats, etc ) wouldn't you have a BOLO list? How is that backwards logic at all?

This is fantastic. todoMVC always lacked many features of standard apps, such as making an async request. I wonder how fast a standard server side, non-JS version compares.

I really like that Facebook open sources both code and model along with the paper. Most companies don't: e.g. Google, deepmind, Baidu.
