I run just plex and pi hole. Money I save with plex that I don’t need a million different services and having no ads at home is well worth the price. One day my friends went out and I couldn’t go. They got all drunk and shared how much the

Sometimes there is no direct victim. Whose the direct victim of public urination or jay walking? I’m not saying they should be legal it’s just nobody really gets traumatized if someone crosses the street without right of way.

That mechanism is trying to get compensated for dead live stock and pulling straws. Thunder is a sonic boom. It’s like saying thunder killed a cow.

It’s almost the opposite in NYC. Huge buildings on solid foundations. Hard part is building. Everything you drop you need to build same day. Good luck organizing it!

As someone who does code reviews the thought the developer didn’t code the code submitted to be merged never would cross my mind.

yes arm64, the twitter thread also said they didn't have to do any TPM tricks, it just worked. i read somewhere else only the installer now requires TPM, the OS boot does not, but that will change when it goes gold

90s I got suspended for “hacking” when all I did was create a windows file share. Had me and my friends split the typing assignments and combine them on the share so we could browse the internet during typing class.

first HN article had a bunch of people saying there were devices behind a NAT with no port forwarding that had the issue, this doesn't describe what happened there (if that actually happened)

that's pretty simple. tar and encrypt all their data. put a DO_YOU_WANT_IT_BACK.TXT file in the root next to it and in there provide instructions to pay the ransom.

My guess is someone figured out how to bounce commands off WD command server (customer reps helping people reset their devices) and they are spamming customer ids. Either that or these devices have unique ports on the WAN with a 0-day but

Arch is great for desktops and laptops because it’s rolling and always up to date with upstream. Install it once. Update it once a week. Never have to do anything else. They also have a user repository where they pretty much have everything

you can fix the ip changing on reboot by pegging the MAC to an IP in your router. if you are also running something like pi-hole you can give it a local dns entry too, which makes it even easier to remember.
