With the caveat that everything fitness is mostly a bunch of non-researched beliefs... Which is better for establishing cardio fitness? Short and hard vs longer and moderate?

These are not bit vectors, but float64. I could probably convert to float32 to cut down the ram. This is a one time job, so no changes. My initial attempt has been using the scikit-learn cosine similarity function[0] which lets you take a q

Is this ready to go? Would love to see a Quickstart usage example somewhere. I have a task which would potentially hugely benefit from this. I have 10 million, 500-element vectors I need to find their nearest pair (could settle for an appro

A car directly impacts the ability of many to work/live. Not having transportation can leave you cut off from society if you are in an area without alternatives.

It is probably one of those little process changes to minimize chance of catastrophic failure. Sure, the risk of the daisy chained system going poof is low, but not zero. Instead, you should try to re-work your plans so you do not need to d

If nothing else, that significantly changes the backend scale required. You should trivially be able to host (show, timestamp, text) in a SQLite database for a very long time. Expanding to screen caps adds all sorts of complexity: legal rig

The entire passkey situation is pretty telling that the spec was created with just vague promises that export would be handled at a later date.

I thought Star Fleet actually wanted to limit the number of circulating Galaxy Class ships so as to not appear like they were maintaining a war fleet. They kept disassembled spares in case they needed to ramp up their forces.

A different one that just bit me the other day was implicitly changing line endings. Local testing on my corporate laptop all went according to plan. Deploy to linux host and downstream application cannot consume it because it requires CRLF

Heh. Silly American thoughts. This site[0] says Global birthrate is around 17.3. However, it has been dropping ~1% a year. It was 19.3 in 2014 and today it is 17.3. So indeed growing more slowly, but a strong trendline downwards. Table copi

I do not think that is true. Many nations have birthrates under the magical 2.1 required for population maintenance. I have not seen stats that say we are something like 2.6->2.5. US is ~1.8 Korea is 0.78

Titanfall was infamous for this[0] PC gamers (especially those with SSDs) were puzzled to find out that Titanfall had a gargantuan 48 GB file size, despite the lack of a single player campaign and the fact that it was running on a modif

I too follow this advice. I am the only user on my system. I would put all my stuff directly into /home if that were an option which was unlikely to have huge gotchas at some point.

I think of this as Rosie Jetson robotic development. In the Jetsons cartoon show, you can watch the robotic maid, Rosie, manually washing dishes like a human. Today, we have a dedicated device purpose built for dish cleaning that operates n

Macros? Any situation where code edits other code? Sure, I could not write a regex engine, but the language itself can be fine if you keep it to straightfoward stuff. Unlike the famous e-mail parsing regex.

Most dictators are not being over-thrown by foreign powers. Nukes as a deterrence would seem to have little impact there. Unless you have a clear and immediate use, having a nuclear program seems like a very expensive money sink.
