exactly my point. sometimes the solution has nothing to do with the perceived problem.

I came here to write a snarky comment, but now I can write two ;) first: if you think any particular db platform is clearly a winner in "db wars", you are naive. there are so many factors involved in configuring the db, the backen

I think it would be far more difficult to arrest and extradite an Ukrainian in Ukraine, or a Pole in Poland. An Ukrainian in Poland makes it all far less a patriotic issue, so the focus is on the allegations.

AFAIK the law shouldn't work backwards, so even if they implement it, this should not apply to the recent referendum...

Did anyone find a "Sponsored" label somewhere around the article, or is it not obligatory in the US?

Nobody is against publishers blocking access to ad-block users. But if 80% use ad-blocks, you block out your entire audience and let it surf to the competition who figured out how to serve ads that are not making people puke (ie. sponsored

I encountered this error in 2005 on a Photoshop version that was 2 or 3 years old. Also, back then you could mirror the scanned bill in some other app and it would open fine in PS. It is funny how this is still front page news in 2015 :P

Does anybody have any wider context regarding this attack? Is it the first time a massive DDoS like that was mitigated, with just minor disruptions to the victim?

Thanks to too restrictive regulations. I miss the times of four-front-wheelers, gas turbines and vacuum-undercarriage.

The funding cap currently in place makes sense, but the extremely restrictive construction rules don't. Some public, including me, lost interest anyway a few seasons ago. I would love to see F1 with say $50M max season budget and no ru

I was really excited for FE, but at the moment is too like gokarts for me. But if your predictions come true, and they open up everything, I would really like FE to become as crazy as the innovative F1 years of 70s, 80s and early 90s - wher

You are spot-on! At the moment, F1 has little diversity and lots of restricting regulations. Formula-E is even worse, with everyone driving the same cars. NASCAR, or Indy, is not better either. All the revolution and innovation is in WEC (W

For me it seems a global language strength lies, in fact, in this ambiguity, loose standards and acceptance of errors (in pronunciation, for example) - I'm thinking like HTML - it really can be buggy and still render text fine. French,

Although you are correct, it's more a matter of perception / PR image. If we are looking at Google that shuts down pretty popular projects (Reader, Code, and now G+ seems to be shifting) or pretty innovative projects (Wave, Glass)

I concur. For one, I find Indian food pretty bad, too much spices, too much ingredients, and everything tastes like curry ;)

Try Person of Interest. A bit cheesy at first, I watched it pre-Snowden, and about 3 seasons in, the NSA leaks appeared - and all of the sudden the series turned not so cheesy anymore...

It's interesting how HN is valley-centric ;) BTW such laws are quite common in EU, for example in Poland you are required to give 100cm of clearance, so about 3.28 feet.
