Agreed that it's not necessarily a creative type role, though I don't think it's a stretch to say that creativity would help find new methods of optimising costs. My mental model of TC is based on a not-very-recent reading of

Webgility is an example of a SaaS company that offers a desktop or cloud-based version of their product. Quickbooks for that matter as well.

I was able to make an order to my apartment. And it’s four tests per address, not one. I don’t see where it says anything about apartment-dwellers being out of luck in the FAQ.

If a user has already spent money purchasing an NFT that they want to use as their profile picture, they will almost certainly spend a bit more for proof of ownership.

Because it actually _is_ connected through an OnStar or similar system. You just don’t get the benefit unless you start paying the subscription cost.

The book Infinite Jest is centered around a video that, if watched, renders the watcher incapable of doing anything else but attempting to re-watch the video. It’s a fascinating work.

A 5-cent tax isn’t a ban. It’s a reasonable cost for the value that the bag provides carrying your items, especially if that money is put towards reducing impact of improperly disposed-of plastic.

The article (and wiki page linked in another comment) seem to indicate that this vehicle design already proved it can go faster than the wind over 10 years ago. Odd that the professor was so keen on betting in that case.

I think it actually requires both diplomacy and cultural awareness. If you want to study the ‘damage’ that a country is doing, it seems like it would serve you well to avoid ruffling too many feathers so that you can do your work in peace a

I certainly don’t hate him and don’t really see how I’m undermining him. Just providing my opinion on why his reputation is different than someone like George Hotz.

Those may be his origins but these days he seems closer to a glorified carnival barker (albeit a very successful one).

Hotz is a true hacker, Musk is a pseudo-nerd businessman. Tesla overstates their capabilities and is more interested in keeping their stock price high than in doing what is best for consumers.

Ah, thanks for pointing that out. In that case, I’m inclined to think it serves one of the utilitarian functions that they mention, as it seems unlikely that all those species would have crow-level intelligence.

I’m inclined to think it’s akin to recreational drug usage in humans. Crows are supposedly more intelligent/aware than other animals, and with awareness comes existential dread or whatever you want to call it. Lots of humans use drugs

Puerto Rico is not subject to the exact same minimum wage laws as the states, it has several exceptions. And even if it were, it’s laughable IMO to consider that a reason to punish workers in the rest of the US. “Sorry guys, we know you’re

Out of curiosity, do you consider the federal minimum wage ($7.50, last updated in 2009) to be livable? I’d also point out that immigrants labor isn’t worth less in terms of pure output, but they’re forced to accept less because they aren’t
