the problem arises when you try to directly access the element with id="bob" e.g. bob.innerHTML this will work on explorer and is called global namespace polluting. and it could get things mixed up. So, a good practise is not to name DOM

what kind of caching? why would you want a web server cache that would eat up memory? what you need is an independent distributed dumb cache in memcached terms.

now i know why MS didn't manage to compete with Google. They still have their focus on desktop. Thats ok. It's better for web startups. Bill Gates used YouTube too before Google buy it, but MS went with creating their own video site..

of course it can reverse engineered and of course it can be recreated but why at least not make it a bit harder for them by obsfucating the code. Good programmers wont bother copy your code anyway. Its those who will try to copy your code b

it wont, the pie is quite big. for newcomers it'd be moore difficult yeah. It'll be interesting if YouTube/Google reacts by adding live streams.

yeah i confused that with ISO 10646 (has the 3 levels which specify unicode, not all levels support the same characters) and UCS2, which UCS2 is essentially UTF-16, so i meant if he used any characters bytecoded in UTF-16 essentially he'd h

http://www.unicode.org/charts/ (characters) http://www.unicode.org/charts/symbols.html (geometrical shapes etc) As I understand only UTF-8 is supported, so forget characters for UTF-16 and UTF-32 (but you rarely need these anyway)
