But perhaps the prior use could help to demonstrate that "eat more ..." is just a generic statement, and so the "eat mor chikin" trademark shouldn't be applied so broadly?

Here's an "eat more corn, oats, ..." poster from WWI: http://www.archives.gov/education/lessons/sow-seeds/ I wonder if that's good for anything.

Yeah. It sounds like a form of of "faking it until you make it" to me; Amazon wanted to have a marketplace with a wide selection, but there's a chicken/egg problem, so they faked the seller side to acquire buyers.

Seems hard to gauge the proportion of real newbies vs. scammers, though.

If the files were being served with a text/plain MIME type, it's sensible behavior for Chrome to add .txt, and it's the site's fault for sending the wrong type info.

I think it depends how you use it. Ultimately, all pride other than human pride and pride in yourself is bullshit. But if taking pride in people who share a superficial similarity with you helps with motivation, and you do so with full awar

They just released another Netflix-original series, Hemlock Grove. After watching through it, I'm not that impressed. The reviews I've read also seem to be on the negative side.

I doubt it would ever make sense to use this over dedicated servers, except at a large scale.

The word "consumer" does appear in CISPA, but only in one paragraph, referring to "consumer terms of service or consumer licensing agreements". I don't see what's so bad about using "consumers" to refer to people who consume a particular se

It really depends what kind of business you're building. If you rely on the network effect, for example, 5% of your user base helps to lock in the rest of your users, and so losing it may have a greater overall impact than just 5%.

I think the point was that you can't tell if `foo bar` is equivalent to `bar(foo())` or `bar(foo(value_from_stack))` or `bar(foo(val1, val2))` or `foo(); bar()` or what unless you know the stack effect of the words.

So, just to be perfectly clear: you don't believe that people have any moral obligation not to murder each other. But they do have a moral obligation to follow contracts (the government's contract to do what the people want).
