At the time that Apple started allowing clones, the common wisdom was that this was the Right Thing. We all knew that the PC platform had only succeeded because IBM opened it up to clones, and the result basically forced them to innovate.

Global warming hasn't stopped. Any easy-to-find factual article refutes that particular canard quite easily. Here's one: http://www.skepticalscience.com/global-warming-stopped-in-19...

Interesting. Is there a similar option for VMWare, or is the format too different?

So hang on... you're telling me there are people who consider themselves geeks who don't use the Lazarus plugin ( http://getlazarus.com/ ) in Firefox? (Or an equivalent, but Lazarus was developed by a friend of mine, so I prefer it.) That

The rest of the article is so-so, but the emphasis on avoiding offending one's cow-orkers misses the key point: if employee A is annoyed that employee B is getting more money for doing more and better work, it should be reasonably obvious t

Yeah, but unless you use them like paneer (ie in curries) they taste bland and icky. But I'm a blue cheese or vintage hard cheese man myself.

That's for sure. By the time you have something halfway edible as cheese, a whole village could have died of starvation. Horrible finicky stuff to make, even with modern refrigeration.

Having attempted to make cheese, I can report that it's almost certainly not compatible with hunter-gatherer (ie nomadic) cultures, so the logic seems to support the idea that agriculture came first, then milking, then cheese, and that ther

OK, that's a good start, but I hope you're devoting a fair amount of effort to improving your decision algorithm. At the moment, it considers tretz.com to be 60% pronounceable, but llmyw.com, qenis.com and domyh.com to be 100%. I can kind

A suitably sociopathic individual could probably have a beneficial effect on the bike theft rates in a city by just going around to the places where stolen bikes are sold and beating the sellers mostly to death with a baseball bat. That'd

An author who has the bad taste and poor judgement to publicise concepts like the "Mad Girlfriend Bug" doesn't have the right to legislate good taste and good judgement anywhere, even on a website he runs. It's automatic disqualification,
