I know these laws exist. I have no idea how they are constitutional but the supreme court has decided that they are. I have to then wonder if instead of a child's head they use the head of a frog and a childs body in the depiction. Is

Let them delete whatever they want then. Just no promotion of user content, it can only be displayed by order of time posted or user votes.

Why on earth would completely fictional images even be considered CSAM? There isn't even a child involved.

The speech isn't free. It is moderated and editorial decisions are being made. It is just pure upside for the owners of sites that want user generated content because they can afford excellent lobbyists. If you argued that you can post

I didn't post on this forum for my first 30 years and it seemed fine too.

Neither of those are good for certain people. They might be very good indeed for society as a whole.

Why on earth should companies be completely immune for things they ask their users to post? Why should they then be allowed to promote such content and yet not be found to be an editor?

I do live in such an area and we end up just taking the risk a lot of the time. Most of the time it is fine. Sometimes disaster. It is a bit frustrating.

It still is. I farm outside of my day job and trying to schedule time to do things like cut hay is sort of a crapshoot. Hay needs a 3-4 day window to dry, rake and roll. This year I got rained on at least twice on days where the NWS showed

It is a ton more when the parent states how much cheaper and easier they are to manufacture. 100x fewer parts and yet they cost more? How does that make sense.

And yet they cost a ton more. It is madness and incredibly frustrating.

We should do all of it at the same time. Diversity and over provisioning is a way to have options and redundancy.

There are lots of places where such things can be built though. TVA's Raccoon Mountain is an example. https://www.tva.com/energy/our-power-system/hydroelectric/ra... There is water at the base of a lot o

Why on earth would medicare have anything to do with residency spots to start with? Why wouldn't the hospitals use this as an apprenticeship program and pay the residents and charge appropriately for their services?

We are pretty darn rural, not quite kansas rural. I guess the way we look at it is that the cable doesnt really cost anything in the grand scheme of things. Getting it built and maintenance really dwarfs the cable itself over time. Plus it

We don't always use an ONT, sometimes we use a enterprise switch if it is an odd deployment, but it lives on our side of the network and the customer gets a port to use.

I don't know of many places splicing in splitters. You can do it in a distributed split but distributed splits are a nightmare to maintain. We home run all endpoints to splitter cabinets to a patch panel. Then we patch the input fibers

I am not sure the people bashing GPON know how a typical network is constructed. If GPON doesnt work out, we dont ahve to rip it all out and do it again. There are home runs back to all of the splitter cabinets. If we need to switch to home

Using PON absolutely doesn't mean you are blocking out competitors. You could easily home run each customer back to the distribution building and still have multiple providers using PON to reach individual customers. PON has nothing to

In my experience, most of the people that think they know what they are doing do not know what they are doing and have a higher support cost. Someone that actually knows what they are doing on a home connection is <1%.

We provide equipment because 99% of our customers don't want to deal with it. They just want wifi and a decent connection that isn't DSL speeds. I will do a passthrough port if someone really wants it but you are getting an ONT re

If GPON or XGS ends up being a mistake, it can be fixed pretty easily as long as they didn't do distributed splits. As it stands currently, GPON itself is very much overkill in our deployment.

I know of a few coops that did active ethernet for future proofing after they got badly bitten by DSL. I doubt they even got that close to paying for the DSL rollout before they ended up ripping it all out for fiber.

The problem with human waste is the concentration of heavy metals as I understand it. We are the very top of the food chain and we accumulate all of the heavy metals from below which then gets further concentrated in our dried waste.

You can absolutely have too much of it in one place even though it is useful. Large hog farms produce so much manure that they have problems getting rid of it all. The big problem is that it costs too much to haul and the feed is trucked in

Construction work isn't worth doing for the wage. It isn't a problem of training. I would rather do construction myself but programming and IT pays significantly better without the travel and the bodily destruction.
