You still have to be a bit careful about finding old posts and old docs on the internet about Rust, given that many APIs have only been stable for a short while. In general, unless you know your source is up to date, I'd recommend igno

Defects can heavily affect the security of your assets though - just preventing buffer overflow is a huge win there. It just isn't a full solution to the problem of security in general, and I don't know that any such thing could e

50k requests seems excessive, are you sure about that? :) Of course it depends on the implementation particulars, and profile-guided optimization may help, but needing a couple thousand requests to warm up is not so bad for a web applicatio

Yeah, jruby+truffle could be pretty amazing for ruby performance. However, having multiple ruby implementations is great too, and they probably would rather keep working on an independent implementation that they have full control over, and

Would also be interesting to see some pixel art run through this. It probably won't work that well given that its trained on real downsampled photos though, but who knows.

Zero-cost abstractions are a thing though. Compiler magic can even fuse together multiple calls like this on the same collection into the equivalent regular loop. So it can in fact be faster rather than slower, in the right context.

Not to defend any unsubstantiated claims, but C60 is not exactly the same as a nanotube. There doesn't seem to be evidence that C60 is toxic/carcinogenic (though not necessarily solid evidence in the other direction either): http

Eh, that's more for logs specifically. The "syncing story" is something that depends on your technology platform and specific situation. I adopted ES when it had rivers, but never even considered using them for syncing.

Is there a specific term for this? This implies that 'How likely is this particular organism to survive in this particular environment?' is not precisely the same as 'How well will this genome persist over evolutionary time

If you can figure that out during an interview, you're solid on the question. That's the gist of it, and knowing that you can use `let` to make it work is good too.

Running what, a bare metal rack app returning an empty response and doing no real work? All requests are not made equal, which is why these RPS judgements are pretty silly unless we define the exact request. There's the TechEmpower ben

Clearly the criticism is that it was very muh harder than it had to be, due to the opinionated nature of Ember, even though it's possible. Eg, things you expect to work just not working, because some hidden convention is being violated

You are correct, but the statement you're quoting can be easily corrected: replace "elasticity" with "The elastic limit of a material". The elastic limit is also conventionally called the "yield strength".

I agree with you that it's not a bad thing - I think it's the main benefit of microservices for most larger organizations, the ability for different teams to control their own destiny and not be blocked on each other. But there&#x

Ahh good point. I'm a bit more bullish on it than that though, mostly because I imagine VR merging with AR in the not too distant future, and I believe AR will be as world-changing as smartphones, if not more so.

I take your point, but that's really not a great comparison. I somehow doubt Segway sold 100k units in a couple of months on their initial release, and definitely not many would have been directly bought by regular consumers. I think w

Things will change when Oculus Touch comes out. I don't understand why people are already dismissing the Rift as if it's the final revision, especially in such an immature market such as VR. Oculus is still more focused on non-roo
