> than Google is secretly manipulating the routes of the masses for profit That's the first I hear of this conspiracy, are there really people that believe this? FUD has honestly gotten out of control into very strange territory.

Google also explicitly says that it only does it when the ETAs are very close, so realistically, it will still be doing what you want. It feels pretty extreme to write such an angry comment about maybe getting a route than 1-2% slower.

It was especially funny right after admitting the hosting cost was 70$, but he then spent 70$ x 2 to get 200$ in unusable NFT credits.

Thanks for the edit! I remember doing it way back when it was a flag, using chrome://flags, but nice to see it's now available through the options.

This isn't even breakpoint debugging though, this library simply makes your print statements "easier" to write, at the cost of having to install and import a library.

At least debuggers give you new powers, the posted above makes you install a library, import it all just so you can have slightly cleaner print statements... I'm not gonna go out of my way to import something and have to clean it up af

Chrome has a "reader mode" semi-hidden feature which does this to any article on any site, and in my experience works perfectly 99% of the time. On mobile it's a huge saver, especially since Chrome by default doesn't hav

This makes me realize how hard it is to navigate a map without labels and borders... Would be nice to have a search feature to navigate to a specific location.

This is basically Amazon getting sellers on its site to pay money to be ranked higher in search results, and since result ranking is so competitive, companies basically are forced to buy out the keywords for their own products/brand na

Where do you see those ads? The most prominent ads I see on amazon is when I search for literally anything, the top results are often whoever paid Amazon the most to be the top results. Sometimes I will literally search for a brand by name

This is in no way meant to be disrespectful about your work, but I would argue that if one great engineer can whip up something that provides as much if not more than Google Reader, then maybe Reader wasn't really a good use of Google&

I believe you can use AMP without the AMP cache, therefore the decision it's entirely in the hands of the website owner. But, surprisingly, almost everyone wants to use the free world scale fast cache.

Absolutely, and honestly I blame reddit much more than AMP there. AMP was clearly not created for the sort of dynamic page like reddit. Honestly, looking at reddit's mobile page in general, it's clear that they try to make it as a

Your FYI is also useful for the contrapositive of that feeling, which we often see on HN: "Look how Firefox is leading privacy improvements and how much more privacy forward it is than Chrome".

At the very least if the link is a threadapp, it's kinda fine. The issue is when the twitter UI stops showing half the thread and you have to keep clicking. I don't mind the bite sized sections personally.

Giving 5% of your revenue (not profit) right back into the pockets of smaller developers seems pretty great overall. Did people expect them to cut their revenue in half?
