Agreed. LTSE has a very tiny market share of the daily trading. I honestly can't figure out how they are making enough money to stay in business. I have to assume that by getting a seat at the big boy RegNMS table, they are getting a s

I feel like the only person here who is thrown off by the misspelling of relative. Right? Ralative is not a word. Right? Or is this something new?

I'd say you are missing out. On the other hand, more for the rest of us! I keep a couple of quarters in the car just for the Aldi shopping cart.

I think the great challenge with breaking changes is demonstrating how other systems have done breaking changes with great success. They are quite rare. And no, the python2->python3 migration is not one of them. Neither is ip4->ip6.

For a fascinating read about Nucor, the competitor that surpassed US Steel, I'd recommend Richard Preston's American Steel.

Former VMS user here. The whole "affinity" program that DEC keep pushing just seemed confused and pointless. I think by the time DEC management realized that they had "played themselves" it was too late. And then the Ita

While spoken by a fictional character, I believe this is a good way to view what architecture should be. "A building has integrity, just as a man and just as seldom! It must be true to its own idea, have its own form, and serve its own

I think you’d be hard pressed to name another case where there that kind of breaking change was very successful. I’d highlight the python 2->3 change as not something to replicate. Same with what has happened to Perl.

I'm an American and I think one mistake we Americans make is that we think we are very direct, but there is a lot of indirectness in some of our communication habits. This is particularly true in other parts of the country. As a native

A recent post from the Cato Institute shows that their push to repeal the Jones Act seems to have touched a nerve inside the U.S. Maritime Administration (MARAD). "Almost at the end of the 41‐ page document is what appears to be a set

Many successful comedic shows are named after their creators. Bob Newhart had _two_ shows to his name. Carol Burnett had a show named after herself too. Of course, I'm dating myself by readily recalling those. :-)
