If that's important to you, then you should also be aware that many of the greens and various anti-nuke groups from the 1980s and onwards were funded by the Soviets. Some of these details can be found in books like "The Spy and th

If anything, the decline in needing cheap labor is going to be a problem for large countries like China. China needed those cheap labor factories to be the engine to help lift people out of rural poverty. Unfortunately that engine will now

I think one of the challenges that the movement faces is that since the 1960's, there have been many disaster claims - sometimes bordering on the fantastical - and they simply don't come to pass. Not sure why this go-around should

This late 80's PSA style ad covers that perspective as well. This style of ads were easy to mock even in the 80s - but I always thought this one had a point. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uwQL9ZzJTX0

Agreed. Scott Rozelle's _Invisible China_ is very much worth a read on this topic. The author is not a China hater - far from it. But he lays out in sobering detail the substantial demographic challenge they still face and why they may

Certainly true - but the advocacy of the philosophical distinction and its promotion originates from various intellectuals. I wish it would go back to where it came from, but I see that we may be stuck with it for quite a while.

Decades ago, in the days before uber, my employer would fly in candidates from college campuses as part of an onsite interview. The candidate would fly in the night before and we relied on a taxi service to bring the candidate to the hotel.
