Few questions: 1. [solved] How does it work? I couldn't get it from the website: 'go/' is not a real DNS-resolved domain but some host alias?! 2. [solved] If 1 is true, how do you want to target smaller to medium sized c

Nice thread and here my top 10 list of antidepressants (in that order): 1. Most of the times, there's a clear reason for a depression, something which is not that easy to change and worse not that easy to identify as the real cause (e.

Think you misunderstood. My message was that people who do this nomad thing are doing this because they struggle with city-life and my bullets were examples why they might struggle. I just said finding long-term relationships got harder bec

Maybe you are right, maybe not. I just think those stories where people worship their nomad life represent not the entire truth. It's not because nomad life is so great, often it's because they struggled because--again--life in de

I'd love to have a BlackBerry-style phone with a keyboard and all main features are shell-based and implemented in a POSIX-like manner (with an optional GUI on top). But I think this will never happen.

I stopped using Github for private repos for three years. I get them for free from Bitbucket and Gitlab. So, I think the actual contender to Gitlab is Bitbucket and not Github. However, Bitbucket feels a bit more organized and mature (the U

Disagree again, especially in Germany US-style CVs with focus on achievements and accomplishments are learned, appreciated and have a much higher conversion than descpriptive CVs.

I think the key challenge with my proposed idea is to have another internal API just for the themes. Everybody can provide themes for the service and hook them into the main avatar service. Imagine there would we just one avatar service whe

Why don't you rather provide a service which generates more complex avatars such as those from Github[1] or Slack. Your API consumer sends some unique string (user-id, hashed user-id or hashed username or whatever they like) and you se

Yes and true but this already half of the API. The rest is just the CSS for the rounded box and color.

Nice idea. As one wrote, this can easily done with one line of JS but having this as an web API which returns an image file is definitely neat. However, I see a privacy issue with sending all my user's real names to some 3rd party serv

To learn Vim you have to use it everyday. Question is if most have the opportunity to use it full-time for development from day one. I started with Vim using it just as a todo list manager on a remote server. Wrote here and there some macro

What’s the solution? 1. Spread all activity on multiple mail accounts? 2. Get a G-Suite account + own domain, so in a case of a lock out you just change the MX records? Option 2 is expensive for a lifelong private account and 1 is cumbersom

Either you make a phone clearly asymmetric (eg new iPhone X) or clearly symmetric. The new Pixel tries to have a symmetric design but fails slighlty (top and bottom bezel have similar heights and form language but are still asymmetric).
