Yeah, this isn't reddit. We don't care if people are trying to promote their work on this site. We all have projects that need promotion.

You should try out Silvrback ( https://dsowers.silvrback.com/introducing-silvrback ). It's a hosted, markdown powered blog as clean as medium.

This is the exact reason why I built Silvrback. If you haven't seen it yet (was on HN a couple weeks ago), here it is: https://www.silvrback.com/dsowers/introducing-silvrback Shipping soon.

This is why I'm incorporating a bio page into the Silvrback blogging platform. There needs to be something better than linkedIn and Github for showing work/accomplishments. Especially if your interests are diverse. My example bio

Thanks. Hearing kind words from the founder of Wordpress is definitely encouraging.

You have full ownership over your data and can export at any time.

You can export your posts at any time with Silvrback. You have full ownership. That's why I'm making it a paid solution, otherwise there would be the risk of your data being sold to advertisers.

Hmm, that's weird. That button opens up a stripe payment overlay. Do you have javascript disabled?

Ghost is similar to wordpress. You will need to setup and maintain your own servers with Ghost.

Good questions. I will follow up with a blog post addressing these issues.

Thanks. It supports image hosting. I didn't want to have to upload images to another server somewhere. It even supports multiple versions of your images (e.g. retina and regular). It's fully responsive so it's good for mobile

This is nothing close to an exact copy of Medium. I spent a ton of time on this UI. It's definitely inspired by Medium. I'm not hiding that fact.

lol. Sorry for ripping on cat people at the end. For the sake of my dog, I felt like I had to get at least one jab in there.

Good luck. I don't see other countries innovating at even half the rate of the U.S. with tech stuff. Leaving the umbrella will be like turning out the lights. It gets boring and cold in the dark after a while.

lol. I don't have something to share at the moment. I've felt "the eye" in the past, however.

Interesting how you discredit advice from "relative nobodies." The world is mostly full of relative nobodies. You must have a hard time opening your mind to learn from anybody.

I've been using this theme for a year now and can't live without it. The density is too high with the regular hacker news and it's hard to read.

I'm merely suggesting that most engineers who take the time to study for these interviews are probably good enough to make money on their own somehow. Whether that is a startup, consulting, lifestyle business, or something else... If people

You can build a startup in the time it takes to thoroughly prepare for these interviews/positions. Willingly subjecting yourself to this rat race is essentially the same thing as stamping yourself as an "ibm man," in the words of Jobs. Who

Here's the lesson: Don't play the game. Don't spend all of your time studying coding puzzles to answer questions correctly to people who are unlikely to hire you anyway. It's just a ridiculous waste of an intelligent mind. Spend your time b

Yeah, the comments are completely ridiculous. OP, I salute you for great work. There is definitely a use for these animations. I think the occasional animation can help increase conversion rates by enticing people to click and get further d

I agree. I think the worst of HN comes out whenever anyone submits a personal blog post. If you read the comments for ANY blog post submitted, you will see how it has become a giant game to discredit everything the author says. I think it's

Wow, all of the fathers are coming out of the woodwork to justify their decisions. I, for one, agree with him. Some levels of dedication aren't possible when your attention is diverted to offspring constantly.

Yeah, I had to parse the article a couple times because the wording is wrong. It seems to me that entropica is trying to minimize the entropy of the system. Life is all about low entropy.
