This is totally irrelevant to HN and is one of the issues on the Internet most likely to start a flame war. Flagged. georgecmu you appear to have been around HN a good while, which surprises me as it's more than long enough to know this i

Speculation: you could easily get to the #1 spot on HN with a blog entitled "From Wizards to Rockstars: what's wrong with the motivation of the current generation of technologists".

I am sure the current citizens of the EU don't know it yet either, nor will they be consulted when it comes.

Using "EU" to refer to Europe is about the same as using "USA" to refer to North America. And, in this case, tagging an article about something in Canada with "USA".

Pypy most commonly refers to the python implementation anyway, as can be easily seen by going to the pypy website[1]. Daslch abused the fact that "pypy" points to two things to make a meaningless nitpick. Now you are claiming that I have cl

Well you are being a bit nitpicky as pypy is both the python implementation and the JIT/Rpython/framework bit. What I mean was someone holding very close to the python implementation in almost everything (syntax etc.) but streamlining it/br

Looks very much like a python without the legacy and a touch of ruby, ipython as the default shell, better multiprocessing, better os/system access, decorators and mathematics. Nice clear documentation too. Given how similar to python they

I am really beginning to deeply loathe link-bait titles as they are guaranteed to introduce straw men and unnecessary arguments into the comments.

I've been around the Internet for a long long time and that's the first time I've seen "SCNR". As I had to search to see what it was I'd suggest you expand it in future usage. You are right in the point you make though, continental Europe i

"Has police kill union boss"? I don't see that anywhere in the article, some people think it's the right of unions not only to strike but also to use force (to block people entering workplaces). If they are legally not allowed to do that (c

After two iterations of this I can se it being pretty good for my parents as they will be able to say "bookmark" or "back" to the voice recognition in the browser and not have to worry about the UI much at all.

This is just the type of blog post that we don't need on HN. People said some mean things in that thread, they basically all got downvoted and the top comment is one admonishing them (so do we need it to be dug up again by this article?). I
