That's a great article, but it rather proves the point that the GTK API is a PITA. Still, you get a lot of benefit from Ruby's flexibility.

I've read the article before, and it's not convincing. I'm not one for conspiracy theories, but the article lists some forms of how it might work and reasons how it would be unfeasible. There are other ways this could work, I

<rant> Shocking! Abuse of power and shady tracking techniques by Facebook? Unheard of! </rant> Seriously, this cannot be surprising after learning that the Messenger app listens to everything you do, all the time. That&#x27

In the morning, I get a coffee and open up all the interesting articles into tabs on hckrnews.com, which I then stack (using Vivaldi browser). I'll go through these tabs during the day when I need a break or have some downtime. The HN

I've symlinked everything and I got it to start (at least the welcome dialog). After that, it just crashes with an assertion. It seems that has to do with missing or wrong configs, but there's not much else to be found on google.

The landing page has soft scrolling or something like that. I'm pretty allergic to anybody hijacking scroll.

Never knew I needed that until it appeared on the HN front page. On a more serious note, I can totally see the value this adds. Everything is so fragmented these days. Nice. Franz did something similar for chat, but never really took off, I

I'm currently doing all my editing in iMovie and I'm not very happy with it since it has a few glitches I frequently run into. Anybody got a link to a comparison between this and iMovie? "Shortcut" seems to be quite ungo

I always had the impression that WxWidgets is obsolete and dying. Nice to see it still active. Out of curiosity, any big or important software written in WxPython?

They seem to have made it free, recently. Last time I saw it, maybe 6 months ago, they used to charge an unholy 35$ per week or so. Now, let's chat up that bot...

Intel has been called out by Linus Torvalds several days ago for the crappy fixes they delivered for GNU/Linux. I would be very surprised if Intel actually shipped proper fixes for Windows. It's a shame, really.
