- fortythirteen 9y agoThe same reason execs always choose major players like IBM, HP, and Microsoft. Nobody gets fired when Digital Ocean goes down, because "hey, I chose one of the most well known cloud providers".
- golangnews 9y agoThey’ve been far more reliable than aws for single zone deployments over the last few years IME.

- mxuribe 9y agoBecause branding/marketing. EDIT: Although I should add that my experience in using DO has made me a fan...so I guess the branding/marketing worked on me to get the initial relationship started; and, now their performance (e.g. uptime, security, etc.) has kept me there, as a happy fan. ;-)
- turtlebits 9y agoI have a bunch of instances on OVH because they are quite a bit cheaper. However the OVH management/billing/admin UI is atrocious. It's slow, unintuitive, and several functions don't work properly. If I wasn't so cheap, I'd go back to using DO in a heartbeat.
