I don't think I'll ever be able to internalise all the features of Vim. I've been using it for > 10 years now but I still find myself learning (and sadly forgetting) new features when reading articles like these.

I quite like the redesign except the annoying sidebar on the right hand side, its way too big and pushes everything too far to the left for my liking I wrote this Stylus rule to get ride of it and make the main box a bit wider. It's a

I'm from the UK but listened to this episode, one of the shocking aspects to it was they set noindex directives on the FreeFile site - although looks like they've removed them since https://www.propublica.org/artic

I remember hearing about one guy asking his bank to essentially block any gambling transaction as he was an addict https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-45652429 Obviously there are ways to cirumvent that but it seemed to help

I was thinking more as in, sending the approval to a separate device, but obviously that wouldn't work if you just have one device that you let your kids play on.

The amount of crap in the app stores that encourage this sort of behaviour is truly, truly shocking. The gaming community often lambast companies like EA etc for loot boxes ("surprise mechanics"), which is definitely a problem tha

I had a tab open from earlier and it refused to load larger images of their thumbnail counterparts which I thought was odd, which suggests quite a few services affected (i.e. their CDN, or image hosting services)

A good war story there, at least the problem was relatively simple and quick to identify as the root cause, rather than something deeper. Would be interested to see what the gnarly regex was that was bombing their CPUs so hard!

Very interesting and easy to understand overview, thanks. I'm not familiar with this side of networking, but it sounds to me the "BGP Optimiser" product was left largely to its own devices and automated a configuration change

No write up unfortunately, I actually made it a few years ago as I was getting a lot of recruiter spam calls, but ever since the GDPR came in that has stopped. I don't receive that many calls these days. I have my (cell) phones voicema

I have 3 running right now 1x Raspberry Pi model B (from 2012!) - runs a reverse proxy to things in my local network, and runs a dynamic DNS service. It's showing its age as its ARMv6 and I guess at some point updates won't be as

I'm not entirely sure I understand this paper. Are the frontend servers hitting the auto shard service with say, a key, and it returns a list of backend server(s) to hit where it knows that key is stored in memory? Wouldn't the au

Normal people can't just hit their bank for an APi key, it's designed for regulated third party services and banks to have a common API to talk to each other that has to comply with the spec (I think, at least this is my understan

I'm really surprised at the replies in this thread, some are almost patronising. Parents might be old, but they're not dumb. People underestimate older people. Obviously there are some vulnerable adults that need a helping hand, I

For this project? It wouldn't have been difficult to upgrade the machine to 64-bit, it's really just a matter of increasing the bus width and register size. But it would slow it down massively due to me writing it in a general pur

I think the machine would need to be much _much_ faster, with the stack pointer register + a few extra instructions to even attempt a project like that hahahahaha

Just looking at the docs, those 31 instructions would definitely help a lot, along with the stack pointer register. I'd definitely recommend doing something like that (not at the logic gate level though - too slow) but an emulator is
