I was involved in a major car accident that totaled my new vehicle due to falling asleep at the wheel on a highway. Obviously it scared me enough that I'll never fall asleep in a car again, but it was due to sleep deprivation from bein

You're actually advocating for censorship on a global scale. We've truly regressed.

I really don't understand why people are so afraid to let the free market decide what works and what doesn't. Government intervention very often leads to poor outcomes.

I've seen at least 20 comments saying that "this is a good step". Good step to what? Full censorship?

This sounds an awful lot like projection and not at all how Republicans think...

Java's package system has its own problems, and all of those examples you gave are very straightforward. 1. Import the default export as the name `x`. 2. Import named export `x` as the name `x`. 3. Import all of the named exports under

I agree with you. I don't think anyone can convince me to use these bloated frameworks on any project ever again in my life.

I actually completely agree with this statement. I tend to follow the gaming industry pretty closely and lately I've noticed that there are simply too many low-quality gaming YouTube channels. I was recommended a video the other day &q

What major injustices do you perceive are happening today in the United States that require laws equivalent to the Jim Crow laws? No one is turning a blind eye to our society's problems. I think we're all just wondering what major

You're posting quite a lot of anti-Trump comments with some pretty wild accusations. Maybe it's time to stop flame-baiting politics on Hacker News? Also, the answer to your questions are predominantly no.

As a centrist I'm not completely apathetic to all politics and I have some strongly held viewpoints, even if they are moderate. So I'm not sure why you're tired of centrists. Centrists understand there's nuance in everyt

I worked for a gaming startup that had Amazon do this to them. Pretty scummy.

There is so much wrong with this statement. Nowadays, you can label anyone a racist, or a misogynist, or a bigot, and get them fired. That's how discrimination works. It's a label.

What are some of the arguments against `systemd`? I've used it in several production systems and don't really have an opinion on it.

And I'm not advocating for that, especially given the amount of garbage on the Internet. But the pendulum has swung too far in one direction and many people are scared to voice their opinions for fear of being rejected or worse, outcas

IIRC Vue doesn't deal with CSS directly at all. I think you're thinking of Webpack's `vue-loader`, which processes CSS through Vue's template syntax.
