There were several things: * The entire model of state with Genservers * Pattern matching made my code unreadable * Libraries that I needed had Erlang documentation I created some pretty gnarly code when pattern matching authorization cooki

Anecdotally, I think Elixir/Erlang are too difficult/esoteric compared to other languages. That makes it hard to come back to after not touching it for a while, which means it'll be incompatible with a lot of devs that use ot

If AI continues to get better it won't just be you who's in trouble. However, keep in mind that these are cherry-picked. If someone just took that output and stuck onto a website, it'd be a pretty horrible website. There'

Anecdotally, ESM has been an absolute nightmare. Packages that aren’t compatible without code changes, having to add extensions to every single import unless we specify a flag (that is now deprecated), challenges with import maps and module

> any valid reason Well, cost, right? Cost is a reason why someone may not want to use a traditional RDBMS. AWS RDS and GCP Cloud SQL aren't exactly the cheapest solutions out there.

Unity has always been an excellent engine in its ideation. Easy to understand, easy to get started with, truly a great onboarding experience. Additionally the ability to use C# can't be understated as, IMO, it's a fantastic match

Tailscale continues to be one of the more impressive services I've ever used. Going to install this on my Apple TV immediately. I often travel and use public Wi-Fi, so this is massively useful as my PC and my laptop are not always on (

I just recently used it and found it significantly more verbose than the AWS provider. Which is unfortunate, because I've actually grown quite fond of GCP.

You should try Halls of Torment. It’s $5 on Steam. It’s a fantastic example of a neat game with a great gameplay loop that has no gambling or in-game store. There’s many examples but this is the one I’m currently playing.
