Thanks for this. I've been naively using containers. Yes, a UI for profiles would be awesome- we've been wanting that for a long time.

It could have been a lot worse. When Fox came in, it could have turned into a propaganda machine for fake science. Given the possible alternative, I'm happy with "fluffy."

This assumes that people actually behave rationally. Indeed. Just the idea that TP is the topic of interest and not, say, food or medicine proves this. You don't need TP. A lot of the world don't even use TP. You can, in

As soon as a client connects to your "hidden" AP then it's SSID is broadcast to everyone and their mother. Interesting. I've never seen it show up before. EDIT: I probably just wasn't looking for it.

Such as? My watch, for example, uses the gps from my phone (if I would let it, that is). And are you implying that Google is cataloging my SSID even though I have it "hidden?"

Oh fantastic- thanks for these. I see # 6 a lot too, especially generalizing what somebody says (eg: universal health care) into a much larger category (eg: universal socialism) that includes a lot of negative components (eg: deadbeats, co

It's almost like there is a handbook out there somewhere on "how to win an argument on the internet" where people are using manipulative tricks to try to shut down debate and appear as the "victor".

Depends on your hardware. I have a Win machine, but need a green screen because I don't have the horsepower.

Oh, that's too easy: Something that indicates the person is willing to make a purchase. My guess is you do searched all day long, and if you saw ads (you probably block them) you wouldn't buy much. Where do you go when you want

Perhaps I wasn't clear. Information search. The last time you looked up how to do something, for example, you bought a product off of a Google ad? What do you define as a "conversion?" I specifically said "sales.&quo

I find that for information search intent is a poor pre-qualifier for sales leads.

haha yes indeed. I had never heard the term "turning point" used like that, but I guess it makes sense if you think about it as the turning point of the first derivative. But I learned what a logistic function is, so thank you.

Yes- but I'm talking about the inflection point- where the curve goes from concave up to concave down. These are modeled as gaussians- so if that modeling works we would be a standard deviation from the peak- assuming the crisis is be

If you're still working on it, I'd love to see the second derivative from the data. That's what I'm wondering about most these days: Are we at the inflection point or not?

The iPhone has a setting that has you route unknown callers to VM ("silence unknown callers"). I used to do the silent-answer trick, but this is so much better. If it's important,I get a vm and I'll call right back. Th

I'm thinking of a challenge more like Sweden rather than an enforced lockdown. Make it a competition- a race to the moon. What happens in Sweden remains to be seen though. More interesting to me is that we have a measure by which we
