I think that is a brittle and somewhat superficial definition of censorship. Here is the Oxford dictionary definition: > The suppression or prohibition of any parts of books, films, news, etc. that are considered obscene, politically una

I think it definitely is. Creators depend on Ad-Revenue so taking that away when they publish something you don't agree with is censorship. Also Google doesn't have to be a state to engage in censorship, anyone can be a censor i.e

>imagined how I could’ve solved it, and looked at the code. As always, it was pure rubbish. Nowhere near the solution I could’ve come up with. I hate this. This always shows a developer whose only idea of a good developer is himself.

Google is such a big company, I find it bizarre they are trying to make money in this way. It would be interesting to know what they make at the end of the pre-sale.

Is the market really dictating anything at that price or is it desperate. I don't think anyone with the power to dictate would accept a dollar an hour. The right word for this is exploitation. Google and Figure Eight directly contribut

More done, with less bytes is a virtue and a great show of skill among software developers. Outside that infinitesimal small bubble however... users could barely give a damn. Also I fear that a lot of this is javascript phobia formed by the

okay, good points. > You need an ISP which allows this (opening ports 80 and 443) Anywhere on the internet that allows you to run a box allows you pretty much any port you like. DO, Linode, Light Sail > It is probably not a good idea

probably should be a ask hn, but in 2019 isn't there a ready to go docker image or something that allows you to be your own webhost. Isn't it weird that we still pay for someone to run an apache instance for us on the web?

This is deeply unsettling to be honest. It means kenya is looking f or a long-term relationship with China even though chinas debt driven diplomacy is already pushing the country into a precarious financial state.

Why don't you tubers just form a union. YouTube will always lean towards favor of the bigger scarier party. Also such a union would be able to lead boycotts and protests of movies albums etc

I think the variable here is you, rather than the industry. Focus on being beyond mediocre and build up a small but well-executed portfolio and you will (almost) never have to look for a job again. I know it's anecdotal but here is my

Is a home an investment though? You would plan to live in it and probably retire in it. And even if you sold it eventually you would have to spread the profit (assuming appreciation) over the many years that you have lived in it.
