Well that's the trillion dollar question. Renewable energy adoption and carbon regulation are accelerating. I'm struggling to see a scenario where we run out of reserves in this century. I wouldn't put it past a country almos

I agree with what you said, they certainly can do that and you could argue the last crude crash was motivated by the US boom. The other argument is that Saudi Arabia's main objective is capturing as much profit as possible on all of th

8809G doesn't have to share with the CPU. 256 bit controller adapted from Polaris would not go to waste, but you may be right from a cost perspective.

Meanwhile, we're still waiting for the "too many tabs" UI problem to be addressed. The had a hidden side tabs option that looked promising but got rid of it.

Even though the trend is toward GPUs, we'll likely be running large amounts of throughput workloads on CPUs for another decade. A 5% reduction in power consumption is worth exploring. Is it bad that I'm looking forward to the end

I don't see his comment as doing the bare minimum. More like being in no man's land. If the extra effort and time cannot lead to greater rewards or will go largely unnoticed why do it? Otherwise you're risking resentment and

This is why we need higher gas taxes. Driving is much more pleasant than the alternatives to most Americans, until the true cost of their behavior is reflected at the pump we'll keep going in circles. Right now my outrageous urban rent

Unlikely unless another host on your LAN is saturating all 1000Mbit. My first guess would be poor wifi then funky shaping on the ISP side. Try it wired and if that doesn't help try it over a VPN.

I'm happy with the Logitech G203 and G403 and I'm looking at adding a wireless version as well. Good sensor, software doesn't run in the background and can even be uninstalled.

I'm curious why the board used this old infraction as the justification. As if being allowed to use the standard "leaving to spend more time with family" story would be getting off too easy... Or maybe something something vag

Only if we allow ad tech biz to dictate the definition of "functional member." So far they are winning. At one point my mom yelled at me for never checking Facebook, she genuinely thought I was being rude. This a war of attrition.

Of course you're right. But why does it seem like memory usage takes precedence over battery life and latency? I may be in the minority, but it seems to me a native app's key advantage over Electron is performance/watt and I

Maybe you can help me understand the outcry over Electron memory usage, especially on HH. I can't remember the last time I ran out of memory on my laptop or desktop unintentionally. Seems to me battery life and jank should be main area

I disagree. They have certainly sacrificed battery size at the altar of thinness but not transistors. Who else is doing 100mm^2 SoCs in consumer devices? Now take that up to 200-300mm^2 and imagine the possibilities with tailor-made blocks

About time. I'm tired of Intel's minimally viable laptop processors (and their security blunders). Apple has the margins and the volume to throw a lot of transistors at a problem, like they do in iOS devices. I want 13" Macbo

I can anecdotally vouch for this. A friend told me about elderberry a few years ago when I told him I had flu symptoms. I went to Whole Foods around 7pm and bought the extract. Took a double dose with Vit C and D and tons of water every 4-6
