The court doesn’t seem to have reached any conclusion about the constitutionality of using the Alien Enemies Act in this way. They just said the process for challenging the AEA must be done through a habeas petition in district where they a

Interesting that Barrett concurred with the dissent on whether the petitioners should be allowed to bring their habeas petition in the District Court of D.C.

I think you’re misunderstanding “unified memory”. That term refers to whether the GPU has its own onboard memory chips which must be populated by a DMA transfer. It doesn’t refer to whether the system has an MMU.

Being able to port your existing C++ driver to IOKit instead of rewriting it in Objective-C is a selling point. For some reason people a lot of people seem to dislike writing an Objective-C shell around their C++.

Plenty of international trade is settled in USD. Here’s a chart showing that China still settles just under half its international trade in U.S. dollars: https://www.visualcapitalist.com/sp/hf02-start-of-de-dollari...

I’ve noticed that distributors (Jameco, Mouser, etc) have a surprising number of introductory education articles. I’ve seen this pattern on websites for car dealerships and HVAC installers, so I assumed it was for SEO purposes. But electro

No it doesn’t. The First amendment is supposed to prevent the government from conditionalizing access to government services based on the speech of the recipient. Private institutions are not subject to such restrictions. If we want to enco

Now that you mention it, at least on Wintel compiler vendors did not preserve the definition of `int` during the transition from 16-bit to 32-bit. I started in the 386 era myself so I have no frame of reference for porting code from 286.

The C language does not specify that `int` is 32-bits. That is a choice made by compiler developers to make compiling non-portable code written for 32-bit platforms easier, because most codebases wind up baking in assumptions about variable
