You’re describing behaviour with AMD’s Infinity Fabric, which groups cores into CCDs of 8 on 7000 series chips. Essentially, a 16 core AMD CPU is actually two separate 8 core CPUs glued together with a link. Intel does not have this limitat

My Kindle Fire is just a glorified Prime Video + VLC + web browser. I bet only a fraction of Fire users use more than Amazon + 'commodity' apps.

Very insightful, but is x265 really that bad? If you’re willing to wait, does slower presets help? I tested NVENC, X265, and DaVinci Resolve Studio’s H265 encoder. x265 was best by far. What more am I missing on?

No, the 3XXXG series do not support ECC; which simply do not work. This is because the iGPU doesn't support ECC RAM.

All this says is that the support engineer didn't access the file. It doesn't say the attacker wasn't logged accessing it.

There are other laws around how you can use names. For example, only companies with a banking license can be called a bank. That's why many holding companies are called Bancorp. It's intentional that trademark registration is reas

I've seen so many Flexport is hiring on HN over the past few months. Interesting how a lot of VC companies seem to be mega-hire mode, only to flip the switch to layoffs.

I think it's completely reasonable for a CEO to have a different view, and when you're a tiny startup, it's very fair.

To be fair, the Ireland case for EU seems more understandable. The EU has an economic union, and consumers still pay local VAT. If EU doesn't like one country has too low tax rates, that's an EU matter.

Does this also disable the excessive sharpening of iPhone's video processing? Even 'ProRAW' photos are sharpened and aggressively denoised, which ruins detail.

First, the APIs don't expose raw controls for everything, but it exposes a heck a lot more than the stock camera app. Second, for high-value developers like Blackmagic, Adobe, etc, there are very regular communication between engineers

My artistic choice is shooting 60FPS at 360 degrees (shutter: 1/60th of a second). It gives motion blur more comparable to 30FPS (which is closer to 24FPS), with the responsiveness and fluidity of 60FPS.

First, I doubt users ask for this though. Those who want it, are going to use a manual videography app like OP. The 99.9% wants a camera that just works. Second, modern neural nets are good, but not perfect. I can reliably tell if something
